"Do you remember the 21st night of September?" It started on a yellow legal pad.
Allee Willis' original handwritten lyrics for the Earth, Wind & Fire classic are now part of Tower of Song: Iconic Songwriters & Recordings, a new ongoing exhibit at the GRAMMY Museum opening May 28.
She's in serious company. Prince's Purple Rain glasses. Kurt Cobain's guitar. Miles Davis' trumpet. Frank Sinatra's microphones. Neil Diamond's handwritten lyrics. And Allee's yellow legal pad, right there with all of them.
And that's just the beginning. More pieces from Allee's personal collection will be joining the exhibit in the coming weeks. We can't wait to share what's coming.
The exhibit lives on the Fourth Floor Gallery. Ticket link in comments.
