is thrilled to partner with the LA City Hall for to present In Movement: A Legacy of AANHPI Athletes πŸ€ This exhibit draws from the Visual Communications Archives to present photographs of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) athletes across the past half century of American sports. From Olympic arenas and neighborhood softball fields to incarceration camps and community halls, each image is a story of resilience and identity across a half century of AANHPI life.

The stories here are about more than sport. They are about belonging, about who gets to take up space, about communities that built their own leagues and tournaments and programs when the door was closed to them.

In Movement is located at the Henry P. Rio Bridge Gallery at City Hall and is open from May 1-31, 2026, and is presented as part of Visual Communications’ ongoing commitment to the preservation and presentation of AANHPI cultural history.

And just like that, 42 is in the books πŸ’«

Over the course of 5 days, we had the pleasure of hosting you in our home. To provide you all with a place to inspire and champion each other. We kicked off on Wednesday at Hello Stranger in our familiar neighborhood then made a pitstop in WeHo before returning to Little Tokyo and Monterey Park.

On this year’s caravan, we saw a meeting of old friends and new faces, artists and enthusiasts, generations and cultures. Through our programming and events we constantly aim for connection. To see all of you share stories, conversations, laughs, tears, and applause really harmonized throughout the Festival.

Our success isn’t dictated by what happened this year, but by what happens years to come. And so if you did attend a screening, panel, event or workshop and had a positive experience in community with us, please help keep spreading the word about VC and please consider donating at πŸ”— vcmedia.org/donate. We appreciate it as it is critical to us going so that we can continue to serve you. We hope that you will be a part of it again.

See you soon,
Visual Communications πŸ’œ
