Shout out of thanks to & for including us in their paddle race day over the weekend!

Over 100 paddlers participated in the 8-mile race on Saturday, while their friends & family helped us clean up the beach. 🙌

We’re stoked that this event is back and thankful to be the beneficiary this year. Thanks for a fun day guys! 🤙

Flashback to last weekend’s annual Creek To Bay. We were one of over a hundred cleanup sites countywide organized through . 🤙

Thank you to the 50+ volunteers who came out and pitched in at our beach cleanup site at Seaside. You helped collect nearly 50lbs of trash (mostly consisting of small plastics) and it always feels good to be a part of a collective cleanup movement. We’re looking forward to sharing the weekend totals from the other sites as soon as we hear, but in the meantime we’ll be back at Seaside tomorrow (Saturday, 5/2), from 8:30am-10:30am, if you want to pitch in!

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Our mission today & every day is to help children understand their contribution towards a healthy Earth.

Today, we wanted to spotlight our environmental education partnership with and Melissa Cuevas’s 5th-grade class at San Marcos Elementary, who have turned sustainability theory into real-world action. ♻️

By handing out reusable water bottles and diving into a hands-on curriculum, we gave these students the tools to take charge. They didn’t just learn about the environment—they launched their own Green Team to fix things.

The results were huge: their waste diversion program managed to slash daily cafeteria trash from 182 lbs. down to just 10 lbs.! 🙌

The students felt such a connection to the project that the Green Team officially invited Rob Machado to be an honorary member of all their future eco-initiatives.

Their hard work landed them on the cover of the April 2026 Earth Month edition of Scholastic Magazine. It’s a proud moment, celebrating the San Marcos Elementary Green Team as a national model for what student-led change really looks like. 🙌

We wanted to share a couple of shots from Spreckels Elementary last month. For the past year we’ve been partnering with
to help bring educational presentations to classrooms. The Marine Conservation curriculum introduces the students to local marine habitats & species and how they’re impacted by stormwater pollution. Students leave understanding the impact of single-use plastics on our marine ecosystems. 🐋

Following the presentations the students pitch in for a campus cleanup to help divert litter from ending up in our waterways!

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! In honor of Dr. Kings legacy of service and community action, we want to give a shout out of thanks to all of our volunteers who help pitch in to protect our ocean & beyond.

Over the weekend we had a great turnout for our first cleanup of the year at Seaside. It was a beautiful day and our volunteers collected over 56 LBS of trash. Great work & thank you all! 💪
