42nd Annual Coastal Cleanup Day 🌊🧤

We wanted to share a few snaps from Coastal Cleanup Day this past weekend. RMF was the site captain at Encinitas Community Park. In partnership with I Love A Clean San Diego, we were 1 of 90+ cleanup sites in San Diego County. 🙌

Our site collected nearly 2,000 pieces of trash—consisting mostly of food wrappers, bottle caps, and single use plastic beverage & food containers. 🚮

EVERY piece collected inland is ONE LESS piece of trash that can make its way to the OCEAN with the next rainfall. So a huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up, pitched in, and helped protect where we play. 🤙

One week ago today, we gathered to celebrate our incredible community and raise funds for our clean water programs in San Diego area schools!

Coastal Cleanup Day is almost here - Saturday, September 19th! 🌊

We’re excited to be a site-captain at an inland location this year—Encinitas Commuity Park—collecting trash before it ends up in our watershed. 🤙

Coastal Cleanup Day is a global effort and San Diego county’s largest single-day environmental cleanup in coordination with our friends I Love A Clean San Diego & California Coastal Commission.

Plastic straws may seem small, but their impact sucks!

Used for just a few minutes, plastic straws can remain in our environment for hundreds of years. Too often, they end up in our oceans, where they break into tiny microplastics that can be mistaken for food by marine life, harming the very ecosystems we all depend on.

The good news? Small choices add up. Choosing a reusable straw—or skipping one altogether—is an easy way to help reduce single-use plastic and protect our oceans for future generations.

Every refill. Every reusable. Every choice matters. 🌊

Every year, an estimated 8–15 million tons of plastic enter our oceans. If current trends continue, plastic could outweigh fish in the sea by 2050. 🌊

Our new installation at shows how small, everyday choices—like choosing reusables over single-use plastics—can create a big impact when we all work together.

Over the years, RMF has distributed 55,000+ reusable water bottles to students across San Diego County. If each student refills their bottle just once a day during a 180-day school year, together they help ELIMINATE more than 9.9 million single-use plastic bottles every year. ♻️

The installation also features two stunning pieces by local artist , created entirely from plastic collected from both Reyanne and community beach cleanups. Stay tuned next week for an artist spotlight and a closer look at the inspiration behind the installation. 🤙
