It's almost soup season and Chicken Noodle is ready!! This cutie was just rescued from the South LA Shelter. He is around 10 years old, 8 lbs and we think he is a Pomeranian/Pekingese mix. He is adorable and sweet, is missing most of his teeth but just got a clean bill of health from the vet. He has a very low grade (1/6) heart murmur that should be monitored but at this time it does not require medication. Wanna meet this guy? Addie was originally rescued as a kitten and quickly adopted into a loving home. Her owners were older and recently became unable to care for her and her adopted sister. Unfortunately, they were surrendered to a shelter where their microchips led them back to us. They are now in our care and we are helping their hearts heal.

Addie is a total sweetheart who is mellow and loves to be pet. She will roll over for belly rubs and is a big cuddle. She likes to hide in cubbies and enjoys when we build her a little blanket fort for her to cozy up in. She recently went to the vet for a full workup and she is healthy. Effie and Madeline are looking for a home together. They are best friends who have been raised together since they were 8 weeks old. They are now a little over one year old.

Effie is amazing. She is very cuddly and very petite. She has a big personality and a lot of confidence. We rescued Effie from the shelter last spring. She was going to be euthanized due to her leg deformity - her right rear leg does not extend and stays tucked in and twisted toward her body (kind of like a flamingo). She requires no extra care because of this, it causes her no pain, and she is otherwise healthy. Effie gets around just fine on three legs and loves to run around, jump, climb, and play. She likes being pet, held, and cuddled. She is often lounging in a bed with Madeline.

Maddie is a perfect angel. She is absolutely gorgeous with a very fluffy tail. She loves meeting new people and she is very affectionate. She likes being carried around. She is very easy-going, friendly and confident. We rescued Madeline from the shelter because she had a ruptured eye. It needed to be removed but she doesn’t mind at all and gets around just fine.

Effie and Maddie are a bonded pair and they are looking for a home together.

Through one of our TNR partners, TippedEars, we found out about three dogs who had been abandoned on a busy street corner. Their owner had moved and left them along with their couch. Kind neighbors like Cat had been feeding them and giving them water, but it is so hot out the dogs had been hiding out underneath the couch for shade. Yesterday, P r i s c i l l a was able to rescue one of the dogs who was running across the street and house her overnight. This morning, we went to rescue the other two dogs. The big dog, now named Astro, happily ran across the street to greet us and easily went in our car. We scooped up the little one, Cricket, from the trash pile and picked up the third dog, Ladybug, from P r i s c i l l a. All three dogs are now at our kennel and are doing well. Once they see the vet and get spayed and neutered, they will be available for adoption.

Happy National Dog Day! P***y is doing better than ever. She had surgery two weeks ago to remove some benign masses from her thyroid. She is looking and feeling great. She is so much fun, very loyal, playful, treat motivated, smart, and good with kids. She would do best as the only pet in the home since she does not like cats and is picky about dogs. We want nothing more than this perfect girl to find a loving forever home. Please share her story so we can find her a family!

Libby is a 5 month old puppy that was found abandoned by the side of the road in San Bernardino along with her mother and sister.

She is a fun, friendly, and active puppy who currently weighs 32 lbs. she loves playing with toys and he is good with other dogs.
