We had such an amazing night at Las Fotos Project Community Kickback on August 1st! 🎶✨

Their Youth Council put together such an intentional gathering centered around community, music, and local vendors. We were also excited to see some of our Media Arts students step onto the stage and share their talent:

Huge appreciation to Erika Castellanos and her Community Engagement team at J.P. Morgan Chase for so consistently demonstrating their commitment to the families and residents of the communities they serve.

Young Musicians Foundation was honored to be part of last week’s Back-to-School Resource Fair hosted by the Chase branch at 4426 Gage Ave. in Bell, CA. Hundreds of parents, guardians, and children from the surrounding communities attended the event, where they received free backpacks and other school supplies.

It was a wonderful opportunity for YMF to introduce ourselves—and reconnect with many familiar faces—while meeting new families from these communities. We are grateful to J.P. Morgan Chase for creating opportunities like these that strengthen community connections and support local students as they prepare for the new school year.

Muchísimas gracias a Erika Castellanos y a su equipo de participación comunitaria de J.P. Morgan Chase por demostrar de manera constante su dedicación a las familias y los residentes de las comunidades a las que prestan servicio.

Young Musicians Foundation tuvo el honor de participar en la Feria de Recursos para el Regreso a Clases celebrada la semana pasada y organizada por el banco Chase, ubicado en 4426 Gage Ave., en Bell (CA). Cientos de padres, tutores y niños de las comunidades locales asistieron al evento, donde recibieron mochilas y otros materiales escolares de forma gratuita.

Fue una oportunidad maravillosa para que YMF nos diéramos a conocer —y volviéramos a ver a muchas caras conocidas— al tiempo que conocíamos a nuevas familias de estas comunidades. Agradecemos a J.P. Morgan Chase por crear oportunidades como estas, que fortalecen las conexiones con la comunidad y apoyan a los estudiantes locales mientras se preparan para el nuevo año escolar.

It’s moments like these that capture the importance of pouring into our youth!

Last week, our 🎧DJ students were booked by Inspire Together LA, a South Central-based youth services, career development and housing nonprofit Inspire Together to bring the vibes to their Community Resource and Job Fair at Amino Pat Brown Charter High School.

For one of our students, DJ Giancarlo, this was his first time performing a set in front of a live audience, and he deeply appreciated the ability to practice his craft at such a well-attended event. Shoutout to DJ Ruben for bringing the vibes, and a special thank you to Inspire Together LA for providing them with that opportunity!

La semana pasada, nuestros alumnos de DJ fueron contratados por Inspire Together LA, una organización sin fines de lucro dedicada al desarrollo profesional y la vivienda de los jóvenes con sede en South Central Inspire Together, para animar su Feria de Recursos Comunitarios y Empleo en el instituto Amino Pat Brown Charter High School.

Para uno de nuestros alumnos, DJ Giancarlo, era la primera vez que se ponía delante de un público en directo, y agradeció enormemente la oportunidad de poner en práctica sus habilidades en un evento con tanta asistencia. ¡Un aplauso para DJ Ruben por animar el ambiente, y un agradecimiento especial a Inspire Together LA por brindarles esa oportunidad!

Join us July 29th at 4pm-5pm as MUSE/IQUE’s .ique On The Road presents, ‘Defiantly Joni Mitchell’. Joni Mitchell was a pioneer singer-songwriting, musician and overall artist who went on to inspire generations of women within music. Come to learn more about her life through live theatre education, music performances and dynamic storytelling.

This is a free event open to all of our YMF Community here in South LA, we welcome you to join us as a part of their MUSE/IQUE On The Road: Community Tours
