We do so through our WVN online Film Festival, our youth development program Girls' Voices Now and our free online Film Collection.

After receiving the Leslie J. Sacks Grand Prize at this year’s 2026 Women's Voices Now Film Festival, director Marie Mandy is traveling from France to Los Angeles to share Forbidden Call: Women Priests with our community once again.

Join us for a special evening celebrating the film, followed by a live Q&A with Marie Mandy and a reception where filmmakers, advocates, and audiences can come together through the power of storytelling.

After experiencing the impact of her mother’s heart attack, Anh Phoong turned a deeply personal experience into action—helping bring greater awareness to women’s heart health through the Go Red for Women movement.

Anh, founder and CEO of Phoong Law, was named the American Heart Association’s 2026 National Woman of Impact Winner for her leadership and commitment to improving heart health awareness in her community.

Her story is a reminder that change can begin with one person choosing to act—and that personal experiences can become a source of hope, connection, and support for others.

When one woman challenges injustice, the impact can reach far beyond her own story.

Audrey Ubeda’s fight for accountability brought attention to the importance of how survivors of gender-based violence are treated within justice systems.

Out of respect for Audrey’s privacy, images used in this post represent the broader context of her story rather than Audrey herself.

But Audrey’s story is also one of solidarity. After receiving compensation from the ruling, she chose to donate the funds to an anti-violence center to support other women seeking safety and justice.

We believe stories have the power to challenge systems, inspire action, and create space for voices that deserve to be heard.

🤝 Meet the inspiring faces behind our Young Media Makers Fellowship in the Balkans

Vjosa Çerkini is an award-winning international investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker.

🗣️ She reports for Deutsche Welle, MDR and regional broadcasters across the Balkans. As European Representative of Women's Voices Now, she trains young storytellers in conflict-affected regions worldwide. She is developing a multilingual youth media initiative connecting young people from small towns and rural areas in the Western Balkans to report their own stories.
