Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day to honor the resilience, strength, and enduring contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation’s history.
Juneteenth is both a celebration of freedom and an opportunity for reflection. It reminds us that creating communities where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive is work that continues today.
At the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, we are the Center for Community Well-Being—a place where people of all backgrounds can find connection, belonging, and opportunities to grow. Every day, we strive to create welcoming spaces where individuals and families feel seen, respected, and supported in becoming the best version of themselves.
To our Black colleagues, members, volunteers, donors, and community partners: thank you. Thank you for your leadership, your service, your perspective, and the many ways you strengthen our Ys and the communities we serve.
