Early registration for the annual SEAOSC SoCal Gingerbread Challenge has been extended through October 9! 🍪✨

Teams that register by October 9 will receive a 30-minute head start, giving them extra time to start building their masterpiece before the competition begins. Those extra minutes are incredibly valuable when it comes down to the final details.

Registration will remain open after October 9, but only early registrants receive the extra 30-minute head start.

Register for Tomorrow’s Wood Design 101 Webinar!

This Wednesday at 6 PM, join SEAOSC for “Typical Roof Types, Framing Layouts & Details,” presented by Mikhail Gershfeld, SE.

With more than four decades of experience in structural engineering practice, academia, and research, Gershfeld brings extensive expertise in wood structures and timber engineering. His work has included seismic performance, community resilience, and mass timber construction, making this a session you won’t want to miss.

Wood Design 101 is a 10-week course designed to help engineers with limited wood design experience build a stronger foundation in wood, including material behavior, framing systems, load paths, lateral design fundamentals, and common field challenges through practical, real-world examples.

Each week features a 1.5-hour session focused on building practical skills you can add to your professional toolkit. Registration remains open throughout the course, so it’s not too late to join.

Teams that register on or before the early registration date will receive a 30-minute head start, giving them extra time to plan, build, and perfect their masterpiece before the competition begins.
