Register Early for SoCalGingerbread Challenge!

The SEAOSC Gingerbread Competition is returning this December, and registration is officially open! Teams will put their creativity, engineering skills, and holiday spirit to the test as they design and build their gingerbread creations in a race against the clock.

Teams that register on or before October 2 will receive a 30-minute head start, giving them extra time to plan, build, and perfect their masterpiece before the competition begins. If you’ve joined us for a previous Gingerbread Competition, you know just how valuable those extra minutes can be when it comes down to the final details.

Gather your team, start brainstorming your design, and get ready for a fun challenge that brings together the SEAOSC community for an afternoon of creativity, friendly competition, and holiday cheer.

SEAOSC Members Tee Off at Topgolf Event ⛳️🏌️

SEAOSC's Topgolf Night was a great success, bringing members together for a fun and relaxed evening at Topgolf Montebello. Familiar faces joined first-time attendees, as people relaxed and made friends while getting to practice their golfing skills.

A day of recognition and celebration, the 2026 SEAOSC Technical Summit & President’s Lunch brought our community together on June 10 at City Club LA to honor the outstanding accomplishments of SEAOSC members over the past year.

This year’s Technical Summit & President’s Lunch is next week! On Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM, join SEAOSC members and industry partners for an engaging lunch and informational session on SEAOC Seismic Design Manuals (SSDMs) and their applications.

One of the event’s three featured speakers, Karl Telleen, is an Associate Principal with Maffei Structural Engineering in San Francisco. He has 21 years of professional experience including design of concrete and steel structures, seismic retrofit and renovation of historic buildings, peer review, and wind and seismic analysis of solar arrays. He completed a Fulbright Fellowship in Switzerland in 2010, and he performed reconnaissance in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. He was selected as an EERI Housner Fellow in 2017. Karl served as Director and Treasurer of SEAONC, and he co-authored papers in the journals Earthquake Spectra, Concrete International, and the ASCE Journal of Structural Engineering.
