Thanks to the generous philanthropy of California Primary Physicians Medical Group and its founding physicians, our newly renovated chapel is now open to serve patients, families, staff and visitors seeking comfort, prayer and reflection.

Designed to welcome people of all faith traditions—and those simply seeking a quiet moment of peace—the chapel reflects the belief that healing involves caring for the whole person: mind, body and spirit.

Participants in Hope Street Margolis Family Center's program gained invaluable knowledge during a Stop the Bleed® training. Led by Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center expert trauma team, these young minds learned critical techniques: applying pressure, packing a wound, and using a tourniquet.

As a Level II Trauma Center and the only trauma center in downtown Los Angeles, CHMC understands the importance of addressing preventable deaths from severe bleeding – a leading cause after injury. This hands-on training not only equipped students with practical skills but also boosted their confidence, demonstrating that anyone can make a difference in an emergency.

"I believe in empowering people, including children, to take quick action to save lives," shares Heather J. Henry, RN, MSN, Trauma Process Improvement Nurse at CHMC. "The skills they learned that day are simple, easy to remember, and have an enormous impact. It can literally be the difference between life and death."

This impactful initiative is just one of many offered through our 100% donor-supported Summer of Science, now in its eleventh year. Philanthropy makes it possible to provide tuition-free STEAM learning, arts, and enriching experiences that inspire curiosity and build confidence.
