Compton Cipher: Panama - Connecting Black Artists Across the Diaspora Educational Panel 🌟

Compton Cipher, a project of The Compton Arts Project, was created to provide access to artists and ideas across borders, foster collaborations, and build bridges to artist communities worldwide. In 2023, Compton Cipher: Panama connected artists from Compton with artists from Panama in a “call and response” online exchange documented by filmmakers in each city. A documentary short by Panamanian filmmaker Randy Navarro will be shared followed by a discussion with Compton artists involved with the project. 🔥Ariela Conde as dance workshop teaching artist🔥

Ariela Conde, Founder of “Finesse Ladies” in 2017, is a Los Angeles-based performer/choreographer. Her work and impact in the community have expanded into services in which she has performed and choreographed for concerts, weddings, TV shows, and fundraisers. While keeping her community and heritage at the forefront of her purpose, she also started the event “Chicas and Champagne,” where she uses her platform to empower other women of color in entrepreneurship.

Learning from her mentors and ancestors, Ariela has leveraged her community classes & entertainment company to inspire women to build confidence, self-love, and provide an outlet for self-expression and healing through the art of movement and dance. Her activism has turned into an opportunity to MC events that center around women's empowerment, education and culture awareness.

Ariela's work will continue to grow through teaching courses and hosting workshops for not only women, but anyone who can be inspired from working with ancestral technologies and connecting with their purpose within community. Catch her at AfroLatino Culture Fest next weekend🔥🔥
