Libraries often rely on proven programming models. But how does staying in the "safe" zone of programming limit growth in engagement and relevance?

What if, instead, we let communities tell us what they want to see? This session explores a responsive approach to programming grounded in observation and community, heavily powered by using the digital tools at our disposal. By paying attention to both digital spaces—like social media—and real-world exchange, librarians can identify emerging interests, trends, and unmet needs in their communities. Rather than guessing what might work, this method uses the digital and visual data that’s already happening around us as a guide. See a trend? Follow it—then adapt it to fit your library’s mission and values. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to create timely, engaging, and community-driven programs that resonate.

Facilitated by local mom and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Narissa Harris, learn signs and symptoms of postpartum, differences in how symptoms present for Black women, and practical ways to manage postpartum.
