Pinup Patriettes

Pinup Patriettes The Pinup Patriettes are dedicated to bringing 1945-style patriotism back to America. We raise funds, awareness, & morale for our military & veterans. USA!

~Who We Are~
The Pinup Patriettes is a group of ladies who love our country, especially those who would answer the call to defend it. We are entertainers for and all-around supporters of active duty military, veterans, and military families. We put a modern spin on the vintage glamour, sass, and talent of the 1940's era USO performers of yesteryear.

~Why We Do It~
Like most Americans, many of us

have friends and family members who are or were in the military. In fact, one of the Patriettes is an active duty soldier! The Pinup Patriettes believe that Marines, soldiers, airmen, sailors and Coast Guardsmen are heroes and they deserve the respect and support of their countrymen. Most of us may not handle live ammo, but we can do a mean shimmy. We'll continue to do what we can at home so that those fighting know that they're appreciated and loved.

Lake Havasu City got a little free publicity on the other night. We’d just like to say a special thanks to the folks at the Days Inn who have donated to our cause several times. Lake Havasu City has always been generous to us and we are forever grateful!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We've stalled out on donations for our Home for the Holidays care package fund raiser. We're only 1/4 of the way to our $1,500 goal. We'd really love to send double the care packages we did last year. PLEASE consider making a donation (follow the link in our profile) and Share this post.

A message from our founder:
Every year on 9/11 I sit down and try to write something, my thoughts and reflections on one of the most horrific events in our nation's history. I wrestle with choosing the right words, ones that might make an impact, even if no one ever reads them because I want to remember. I want my son to know. We often say "Never Forget", but the truth is, we do. The events of history eventually fade. Kids today learning about 9/11 in school are our first generation of people with second hand knowledge of the attack. And with each generation, the memories will fade, the pain will lessen, and we will move on. It's an important part of the healing process. And yet. And yet, we need to remember. We need to share the stories, the images of the lives damaged, the lives taken. We need to remember ardently the horror of that day, lest Patriot Day turn into another Memorial Day, with BBQs and shop sales, and fewer and fewer attendees at cemetery Memorial ceremonies.
I often refer to 9/11 as my generation's Pearl Harbor. I remember the stories my grandfathers told me because they wanted me to remember, Never Forget. My grandfathers served in both the European and Pacific theaters, one even surviving the Bataan Death March. Their stories are what planted the seed for the Pinup Patriettes. I hope that our organization, in whatever small way, can be a link to the past and bridge to the future. Our uniforms are a symbol of a nation bound together in a common goal, everyone doing their bit. We want to keep that spirit alive. We want to remind people, Never Forget.
So, today, as you go about your lives, make a point to share where you were, what you were doing, how you felt. Listen to the stories of others. Share those stories. Keep the humanity in 9/11, because the history books will eventually water it down to names and dates, future generations will no longer care, and Patriot Day will just be another three day weekend. Unless we tuck those memories in our hearts. Unless we Never Forget.

Our annual holiday care package slumber party is coming up! We still need your donations to make it happen. 100% of donations received up until Oct. 15th will go towards our Home for the Holidays care packages. We send a little piece of home to deployed military members who aren't getting much (or any) mail. No one who serves our proud nation should go on feeling forgotten. Help us make their season merry & bright no matter where they are! 💋🇺🇸💋

We've been asked if we're doing any fund raising for hurricane Harvey relief. Because we are strictly a military & veterans support charity, we aren't doing any fundraising for natural disaster relief. We simply aren't set up to meet the needs of those affected, nor do we have contacts in the area. BUT we do recommend that YOU mobilize to help. If you can, go volunteer your time, make donations of goods and services, and make monetary donations to LOCAL charities and food banks. Those local charities are the real boots on the ground that are best positioned to help (and where your money will do the most good.
Houston Food Bank and Houston Diaper Bank are good places to start.
