Over 365 days. That’s how long Tiger Lily has been waiting for someone to choose her. 🖤

Tiger Lily is a one year old, 30lb, Border Collie & Staffordshire Terrier Mix!

She was just days away from euthanasia at a shelter when she was rescued, arriving with severe mange and ear infections that she has since overcome. She has now been in foster care, while continuing to patiently wait for her forever home.

Her personality is the perfect mix of playful, goofy, smart, and sweet. Her love language is play and ball, and she works like a Border Collie who wants a job and cuddles like a Staffy who wants your whole lap. While she can be a little cautious with new people and dogs at first, give her some time to warm up and once she trusts you, she stays close. She does best with another dog in the home and would love a family who will give her routine and let her warm up at her own pace. 💛

She’s been with the same foster and trainer for almost a year now, Joy and we can’t thank her foster enough for helping her build confidence and prepare for her forever home. 🙏

Please welcome back Lucy! 🐾 Formerly known as Elsa, Lucy is a 10-year-old Shepherd Mix who was originally adopted from HIT in 2022 and has now found her way back to us after her owner realized she could no longer give Lucy the time and life she deserves.

We are already so in love with this sweet girl! Lucy has the cutest personality, loves to love, and is happiest when she’s with her people. She’s also great with other dogs.

Welcome back to HIT and to this new chapter of your life, Lucy. We cannot wait to find you the best furever home! 💛

He’s ready to be someone’s whole world. 💛

Scottie has a way of making life feel a little calmer. He’s the kind of dog who’s simply happy to be by your side, and his steady, gentle presence makes home feel complete.

In his foster home, he’s proven himself to be the easiest companion. His foster describes him as “the calmest, sweetest dog,” happy to take each day as it comes. He loves people, adores kids, and greets both familiar and new faces with quiet friendliness. He’s great with other dogs and comfortable around cats, playful when the moment calls for it but never over the top.

On leash, Scottie is an easy walking partner, happy to stroll along at your side. His energy level is right in the middle: he enjoys walks and a bit of playtime, then is more than content to settle in for a nap. He’s partially house trained and is still learning not to mark indoors, so he’ll do best with someone willing to patiently reinforce his good habits.

Scottie would thrive with someone who’s home much of the time, whether retired, semi-retired, or working from home, where he can be the loyal sidekick he was born to be. He’d be just as happy as your one and only or sharing his home with other calm, friendly pets.

🏡 NELLIE IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! 🏡
Nellie is a sweet, gentle girl who came from a rough start but has truly blossomed in foster care! Once she knows you’re safe, her goofy puppy side comes right out—expect toy-tossing, sweet kisses, and her signature move: sneak-attack head licks to initiate play! 💛 She’s 7 months old and about 50 pounds.

Her ideal adopter is someone who lets her warm up on her timeline and already has a dog to show her the ropes (she learns so much from dog buddies!) No young kids (sudden noises/movements can still spook her). A yard is a huge plus!

You’ll get a free session with an in-house trainer to set you both up for success!

You’re going to want to meet this sweet face 🥹

Chai will stand on her back legs for as long as it takes you to notice her, and once you do, she’s happy to stay right there for the pets.

She and her sister Maple were abandoned in a yard in South Gate, covered in fleas, until one of our fosters spotted them and asked if she could take them home. The answer was yes.

She’s about 7 months old and 6.5 pounds, and we’re estimating she’ll land somewhere around 7 to 9 pounds full grown. She’s all white, with a soft, fluffy coat, feathered ears, and the look of a Chihuahua mix.

Her foster describes her as very calm and lovable. Sit down and she’ll walk over, rest her head on your knee, and leave it there while you pet her. She likes to cuddle and loves being carried, though she also likes her personal space and isn’t clingy about it. Get close and she’ll roll onto her back for a belly rub, a move she recently pulled on a toddler lying next to her on the rug, and one look at that photo convinced our team that Chai might need a kid in her life.

She can still be a little skittish at times, so a patient home that lets her warm up on her own terms will suit her best.

Chai is looking for a person who notices when she’s standing there waiting, with bonus points for a kid who wants to share the rug. If that’s you, head to hitlivingfoundation.org/adopt to apply.
