Few people have had such a large positive impact on children's literacy as Dolly Parton. Through her Imagination Library, she has put millions of books into directly into the hands of young children. By doing this, she removed barriers and opened pathways to a love of books. Dolly said "The seeds of dreams are often found in books and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world."

We hope to honor her legacy as we continue to bring books and the joy of reading to the children in our community through our ONE Mobile Unit.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing us just how far a book can reach.

Congratulations to our Educational Director, Logan, for pursuing her dreams! Logan has always loved musical theater, and just had the opportunity to take part in a local production of the SpongeBob Musical. And closing night was made even more special by kids from the coming to cheer her on! Logan shared how meaningful it was to have the kids there, and we loved that they got to be part of such a special moment. More importantly, it gave them a wonderful reminder that it’s never too late to pursue the things you love!

The kids also had the opportunity to take part in a special workshop, meet members of the cast, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of musical theater. It was a great celebration of creativity and empathic joy.

Thanks to and for hosting us and for putting on such an amazing production!

From program milestones to life milestones, we celebrate it all. Some of our most engaged youth participants headed off to prom surrounded by the community. Moments like these remind our young people that they are supported and deserving of joy. We’re proud of each of them and excited for all that’s ahead.

Keep your ears open... Our youth in Watts have started to record their own podcast. This show will allow them to truly express themselves: who they are, what they're going through, and what matters to them. It'll be a real, honest look at life for young people who have the cards stacked against them. Because their voices matter. Be ready to listen! Coming soon.

Instead of just learning about butterflies, they raised them themselves! 🦋 Our students watched as caterpillars changed, formed chrysalises, and eventually emerged as beautiful painted lady butterflies. It took patience and care, but the excitement as they flew away made it all worth while.
