What’s your why, LA?

Maybe it’s housing. Maybe it’s your family. Maybe it’s immigrants, workers, schools, wildfire recovery, or the future we all deserve.

Whatever your why is, this is your reminder to use your voice.

Vote Centers are open now through June 1 from 10 AM to 7 PM. On Election Day, June 2, Vote Centers are open from 7 AM to 8 PM.

Find your local Vote Center in Los Angeles County at locator.lavote.gov/locations.

Mailing your ballot? Send it early. Ballots must be postmarked by June 2, but the sooner you mail it, the better.

And if you can’t vote, you can still show up. Help someone make a plan. Drive someone to the polls. Share trusted voter information. Talk to your people about what’s on the ballot.

Voting is not the only way to create change, but it is one of the easiest ways to make your voice heard.

The last day to vote is June 2.

Not all scary stories happen in October.

The California primary is June 2, and the real horror movie is realizing too late that your ballot had more power than you thought.

You can vote by mail, drop off your ballot, or vote in person at any LA County Vote Center starting May 23.

The people who make it to November are decided now. Don’t sit this one out.

Tomorrow is May Day across LA; Angelenos are showing up for workers, immigrants, and our collective future. From rallies and marches to community gatherings and resource fairs, this week is about visibility, solidarity, and care.

This year’s actions include a major May Day march at MacArthur Park led by and the Los Angeles May Day Coalition, alongside gatherings in Boyle Heights, Pasadena, and Downtown hosted by , , , and .

In 2006, Los Angeles became the center of one of the largest May Day mobilizations in U.S. history, as hundreds of thousands took to the streets in the “Day Without Immigrants” marches, shutting down parts of the city and cementing LA’s role in the fight for immigrant rights. That legacy continues today.

Please take care of yourself and each other. Stay aware of your surroundings, make a plan with your group, and look out for your community.
