Mark your Calendars 🗓️

To celebrate the 8 year anniversary (3/28/1965-07/07/2018) of Detective Mitch Speed we will be starting a new tradition.

Blue Cancer Connect in collaboration with Lancaster Station will be honoring ALL station personnel who passed from cancer. ♋️

This fundraiser will be our gift of giving back to the community.

City of Hope Antelope Valley assists a wide area of patients with food, gas, and lodging while going through treatment. We know families are struggling during those difficult times and we want to make a difference.

Together, we will honor the lives of those who served and in their names, give back to the community.

Please join us or donate to the station for this amazing cause.

SAVE THE DATE:
October 10, 2026

The Village Studios is home to some of the biggest names in the music industry. This incredible evening will give guests an opportunity to experience private studios, gold and platinum records, and stand in rooms where famous musicians record.

Blue Cancer Connect is honored to be the recipient of a fundraiser, hosted by The Village Studios and Street Tales Network.

Tables are going fast and we will be announcing individual ticket sales soon.

Why become a Sponsor?
Cancer is hitting at an historic high in Law Enforcement.
Officers lack education, resources, screenings and understanding of exposures.
When our officers sign up for the job, we never discuss the possibility of a cancer diagnosis.
The time for change is now!

Our guests will learn firsthand what our officers experience after being diagnosed and the hardships they face.  You will have the opportunity to speak face to face with our cancer warriors and hear there stories.

The evening has a few very “Big” surprises and it’s an event you won’t want to miss.

Tyler, Jeff & Tina thank you for loving our sworn and partnering with our organization to allow us to continue this viable work ♋️.

National Cancer Survivors……today is your day!

National Cancer Survivors Day is a day to recognize survivors, to bring attention to the ongoing challenges cancer survivors face, and to Celebrate Life.

We stand and applaud our first responders who have fought and beat cancer. Today, our team recognizes our board members and volunteers that aren’t just survivors but thrivers!
You are the real heroes!

We dedicate this incredible honor to every sworn in the battle of cancer.

We are so proud to be a recipient of the City of Hope Healthy Living Grant. This honors the work we are doing in Law Enforcement Cancer.

The City of Hope has played a pivotal roll in treatment, second opinions, research, and nationwide navigation.

To be recognized at just 3 years in, is a testament to the need of education, and resources for Law Enforcement.

To our team, the volunteers, outside organizations, sworn personnel, Agencies, and our Board, today is because of you.

It is with deep gratitude to every officer who has entrusted us on one of the worst days of their lives. We will never stop fighting for better. We will bring the change that is long overdue.

Our officers deserve better!

Calling ALL LASD and surrounding agencies….

Real heroes don’t always wear a uniform & badge. Sometimes they are the little one whose Daddy does.

Noah is 7 years old and batting Stage 4 Brain Cancer. To complicate things, our little hero is non-verbal with autism.

Treatment is in San Diego, the weeks are long, and travel costs are piling up. They need our help.

If you are unable to attend please consider donating to the Venmo listed.

No family should witness their child go through this. No family should walk through cancer alone.

Let’s show Deputy Aguilera some tan and green love 💙

Something really big is about to happen…

Blue Cancer Connect is getting ready to unveil something so big it will change cancer in Law Enforcement, forever!

Our mission is to build a program for every officer in the nation. This program is built by officers for officers.

Thank you to the many sworn who are battling cancer for being a part of this amazing project. Thank you for the love, support, and belief in changing history.

They said it couldn’t be done….
Watch Us.

Our officers deserve better!

Blue Cancer Connect had the profound honor of speaking alongside some powerful presenters at the Los Angeles County District Attorney Peer Support Mental Health Day.

Over 100+ sworn listening to the raw, real, and tough conversation of cancer. It hits home when you hear facts and truths of what it really looks like.

With cancer on the rise, funerals being planned and education so desperately needed, we didn’t hold back.

You could hear a pin drop when we discussed the confirmed number of filed cancer cases in one agency.
Hearing the number grabbed the attention of everyone in the room!

We aren’t slowing down….
Our officers deserve better!

Memorial Day looked a little different this year…

Exactly 10 years ago on Memorial weekend, we received the phone call no one ever wants, “Mr. Speed, we are sorry to inform you, you have a very aggressive Stage 4 Prostate Cancer,” and so the journey at City of Hope began.

When I received an email stating there is a platelet shortage, I couldn’t think of anything more honoring to Mitch and the many in the fight than to show up on Memorial Day.

Upon finishing the donation I sat on the grounds and just reflected.
The many times Mitch & I had been there, and the last time we showed up and not realizing we would never be back.

I thought about all of the officers we have lost and the hundreds in the fight. The funerals being planned and those just being diagnosed.

I was warned early on I was in for a fight and I would face a mountain that was straight uphill….they were right the top is no where in sight.

But know this….
We have a team with hearts to serve. I am surrounded by officers that have beat cancer and live to give back. We have broken barriers they said couldn’t be done.

The City of Hope is my reminder this is where I belong. This calling on my life is a gift I don’t take lightly, and what a gift it is. It’s a gift to serve.

Yesterday was that gentle reminder to stay humble, stay grounded, stay focused, and never forget the fire 🔥 within.
