Protect USC. Take the TrojanSecure: Responsible Use of AI Tools Training .
Earlier this year, USC launched enterprise AI tools, including ChatGPT, to support the secure and effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) across the university. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our teaching, research, operations, and daily work, it is essential that we use these technologies responsibly and securely. Beginning Wednesday, September 9, all faculty, staff, and select iVIPs are required to complete a new 20-minute training course titled "TrojanSecure: Responsible Use of AI Tools."
Faculty and staff received an email from TrojanLearn notifying that the course has been assigned and must be completed within 30 days of assignment. This training provides practical guidance on using AI technologies safely, ethically, and in alignment with university policies. It also reinforces our shared responsibility to protect university data and support the thoughtful, secure adoption of AI technologies. Responsible AI use is essential to protecting our students, faculty, staff, and the university as a whole. The training covers best practices for safeguarding sensitive information—including student records, research data, intellectual property, and other institutional information—and helps reduce the risks of exposing confidential data, creating compliance issues, or misusing university resources.
