Los Angeles Peace Council A Los Angeles based community organization affiliated with the American Friends of the World Peace Co The guiding principles of the Peace Council are:
1.

Prohibition of all weapons of mass destruction and ending of the
arms drive; abolition of all foreign military bases; total and universal
disarmament under effective international control.
2. elimination of all forms of colonialism, neocolonialism, racism, and
other forms of discrimination.
3. Respect for the right of the peoples to sovereignty, and
independence, essential fo

r the establishment of peace.
4. Respect for the territorial integrity of states.
5. Non-interference in the internal affairs of nations.
6. Establishment of mutually beneficial trade and cultural relations
based on friendship and mutual respect.
7. Peaceful coexistence between states with different political systems.
8. Negotiations instead of use of force in the settlement of differences
between nations.
