A special single barrel from El Tequileño, created by Lauren Castaño and Gina Castillo, and every dollar of proceeds goes to our work in San Pedro de los Landeros. This one is going toward healthcare. The entire Valley of Tequila has no major hospital, and we’re working to change that. A huge thank you to for handling every aspect of the sale andmaking sure every dollar gets back to the foundation. 💝Swipe through for the full story.

Feliz Día de la Madre from San Pedro de los Landeros!

The women you see in these photos have spent the past several months building a community kitchen in collaboration with our research team at the University of Guadalajara, collecting recipes that go back generations and shaping a space that’s entirely theirs.

When women have somewhere of their own to gather, so much starts to shift in the community around them. They talk through what needs solving, they begin earning income from their cooking, they find their voice in conversations they weren’t always part of before. And the tamales coming out of this kitchen, we can say with full confidence, are the best we’ve ever had.🥰

This is what we mean when we talk about long-term change. It takes time, it’s intentional, it’s generational, and it only happens when women are at the heart of a community. 🫶

Happy Earth Day from San Pedro de los Landeros!

Last week we threw a small ceremony to honor the community of SPL for everything they’ve poured into this water project. Every household now has running water, 24/7. All 51 families.

And then they flipped it on us. They surprised GBF, UdG, and Pronatura with certificates of our own. We came to celebrate them and like the incredible community they are, they celebrated us right back.

Taking care of our planet isn’t something any of us pull off alone. It happens when communities have the vision to see what’s possible and the confidence to build it. Gracias SPL!

Gente Buena. Good People.

Last night, good people gathered under the stars at the Official Residence of Mexico in Los Angeles for the inaugural Día de Gente Buena, a celebration of culture, community, and cross border collaboration.

Together, we reflected on the shared purpose that connects Mexico and the United States: protecting the people and the land that make the tequila we love possible. Through heartfelt words and collective vision, the evening reminded us what can happen when good people come together for the greater good.

We are very grateful to Consul General Carlos González Gutiérrez, his wife Alina, and his team for opening their home and hearts to this mission, and to all who continue to walk beside us in this journey.

The future of tequila is bright when it is rooted in the people, land, and communities of Mexico.

Today, we are proud to announce the Good Agave Pledge, a coalition of producers ensuring the people and land of Mexico benefit from the global success of tequila.

Thank you to our founding members for stepping up to lead with heart. This is just the beginning.

“These are the days you’ll remember…”

For over two years, we’ve had the honor of working hand in hand with the community of San Pedro de los Landeros. This group photo, taken during our Día de Gente Buena celebration, is a reminder of the joy and strength that comes when a community comes together.

We are very grateful for the opportunity to walk beside this community and excited for all that still lies ahead.

Meet the dream team!

Change isn’t a solo sport. It takes people with vision, heart, and a wide range of lived experience.

That’s what we have, and we are so proud to have this incredible crew moving Gente Buena’s mission forward.

Yesterday marked a historic moment in San Pedro de los Landeros. We installed the first cistern as part of our Water is a Human Right campaign, and pictured here is Doña Ramona, the very first recipient.

This would not have been possible without the extraordinary collective effort of the community itself, our partners at the University of Guadalajara, the College of Michoacán, and Pronatura. A heartfelt thank you to Professor Leobardo Padilla for his steady leadership and unwavering commitment to this effort on the ground.

This moment has been years in the making, and it was an honor to witness it come to life. We are deeply grateful to Doña Ramona for sharing it with us.

To our donors, thank you. Your belief in this vision is helping bring water, security, and possibility to the families who make this community so special.

This is not just about one cistern. It is about what becomes possible when the tequila industry begins to invest in the people and places that make this spirit so exceptional.

We are just getting started. If you would like to support this work or learn more, visit gentebuenafoundation.org (link in bio).

The Gente Buena Foundation is evolving, and with it, our visual identity.

As we continue our work supporting communities, sustainability, and fairness in the agave industry, we want our look to reflect the people and values at the heart of our mission.

This is more than just a design change—it represents our commitment to working alongside those who care deeply about the land, the people, and the traditions of agave.

More to come soon. The best work happens when we do it together.

A heartfelt thank you to the talented for bringing this vision to life.

“Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today, we honor Dr. King’s legacy as a reminder that greatness lies in service to others. At the Gente Buena Foundation and Valor, we are inspired by the strength of our community and the kindness that fuels our shared mission. Together, we’re building a future where every act of love and service creates lasting impact.
