Some people go through a program. Others let it shape them into someone new entirely.

Khariss Bender is a two-time EICOP alum who returned because she knew there was more to gain, more to learn, and more to grow into. Now a Howard University graduate headed to CNN, she is living proof that when you keep showing up, opportunity has no choice but to show up too.

Watch her full story in the reel above. We are so incredibly proud. 🤍🎙️

The realm of Xphilyis is calling. 🌌✨

Meet Infinity Rising: The Series — an original audio drama created by EICOP alum Myles Chandler. This is a fantastical world built by one of our own, and we could not be more proud to amplify it.

Infinity Rising follows a Black q***r hero navigating identity, community, and power in a realm unlike anything you've heard before. A story rooted in the themes we believe in: Community, Identity, Valor, and Humanity.

This is exactly why EICOP exists. To give creatives like Myles the access, the community, and the foundation to build worlds from the inside out.

The campaign is LIVE on Seed & Spark with just days left. Every dollar goes directly to the voice talent, editors, and visual artists bringing this story to life. Help them rise. 👑

From the yard to a full-time offer, Ssuuna McKitty is that guy. 🎬✨

EICOP alum and Morehouse College graduate Suuna Kitty just landed a full-time role at Sony Pictures, and we could not be more proud.

A Business Marketing major from Chicago, Illinois, Ssuuna came into EICOP with a vision and left with a career. During his time at Morehouse, he interned at Lionsgate (creative development and marketing), Paramount (marketing and distribution), and Warner Brothers (creative development), all before graduation.

He also screened two of his own films at EICOP showcases, because yes, he is also a director and writer.
What makes Suuna special isn’t just the resume. It’s the mindset. He calls himself the Black Panther: part business, part creative, fully himself.

His name, Suuna, comes from a king in Buganda, and he carries that energy into every room he walks into.

This is what HBCU Futures looks like in action.

When students get access to the right rooms, the right mentors, and the right opportunities, they don’t just enter the industry. They shape it. From applying as a freshman and refusing to take no for an answer, to signing a full-time offer at one of the biggest studios in the world, this story is proof that preparation, persistence, and program support change lives.

Congratulations, Ssuuna. The industry is ready for you.
