Healing shouldn’t keep you in your 💩 healing should support you in embodying the most empowered,connected and expressed you. ✨🌈 But Sometimes people can get stuck in over processing the same thing- same story… over and over again that it begins to sound like a broken record. There are few reasons why this can happen-
1. Are you truely ready to heal? Are you truely ready for change. Or are you still in the contemplation phase? If you are - that’s ok. But this is why you might be wanting to continue to talk it out.
2. You desperately want to heal, but you are sooo much in your head you can’t feel your body to be able heal. Hi! This was me 🙋🏻♀️ 10 years ago I could tell my therapist exactly my problem, the solution, my trauma, and psychoanalyze myself but nothing was changing. I remember telling her, “ just tell me what to do and I’ll do it.” That’s how ready I was but it doesn’t work like that. 🙄 At the time, I was disconnected from my feeling and my body to be able to fully process a very traumatic experience and integrate it. When my therapist would ask “how do feel about X ?” I would completely disassociate, my throat would close up and I’d blank out. When this happens - talk therapy can sometimes be ineffective and taking a body based or somatic approach can help you as it did me. Expressive arts therapy, sand tray work, breathwork and somatic therapy all helped me heal and why I use many of these modalities in my work today.
