HNDP, Helping the Next Developers and Producers is a Los Angeles based non-profit striving to cultiv

HNDP was co-founded in 2009, by Aaron Duran and William Correa, to provide students with a safe space and outlet for creative expression. First operating out of the preeminent Self Help Graphics & Art as Hard N Da Paint, these weekly open mics every Friday after school attracted a diverse crowd of lyricists, artists, musicians and fans of live music. Over the years, as the participants became more

experienced, showcases were formed, pairing up known musicians with the artists coming out of their workshops. These showcases provided a unique platform for students that normally wouldn’t be able to perform in such environments. After a few successful events, the format for HNDP began to evolve and a more structured curriculum was introduced. Currently, HNDP offers workshops in video game development, original video content creation and music production throughout Los Angeles.

Back in 2009, we met up every week to create together and fuel a movement that continues to push the culture of creatives forward. Our Open Mic was the place to be every Friday in East Los Angeles.

You would find groups of people freestyling on stage in a cipher, the homies breakdancing, graffiti books being passed around at the graffiti tables, and the DJ spinning tunes all night. The vibes were always about unity and uplifting. If you've been to any of our events, you know the energy we bring, and the vibes are always on point!!

This new season of Hard N Da Paint will consist of the same format that helped us get started in the beginning!! If you're creative and want to get involved, you know what to do!! Hit us up!! Send us a message, and we'll connect the dots for you.

This weekend was amazing. We celebrated the life of North East Los Angeles hip-hop legend Pl***oy Eddie, aka Crisp. We gathered and shared stories, fellowship, meals, blackbooks, and more. Another historical day for West Coast Hip Hop!! Thank you to everyone who came out to support. See you all at the next one!!
