Please help me continue you my push to find a cure for my twins sister Emma. 6 years ago when I started this fundraiser, there were 0 organizations investing in therapeutics for Angelman Syndrome. In 5 years, with your help, you have helped me raise $240,000, Emma is in a clinical medical trial, and 21 organizations are now investing in trying to find therapeutics for AS. You have helped change our lives, given us hope, and we want to continue to give momentum to this as the Angelman Syndrome Foundation continues to lead in research for AS which will ultimately impact other conditions like Parkinson's, ALS, and other rare diseases. Thank you! Hope.Love.Give. Quinn

Please help me find a cure for my twin sister Emma and Angelman Syndrome. Hope. Love. Give.

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” ~ Lao Tzu

Hello, my name is Quinn Pruitt and I am 10 years old. Every since I can remember, I knew I was deeply loved by my twin sister Emma, and that gave me strength as we were growing and learning about Angelman Syndrome in our family. Emma, couldn't talk, walk or do things like others could, but she had so much love and goodness to give the world.

In January of 2017, when Emma started at our local elementary school half way through 1st grade, I wanted people to understand my love for her, even though she couldn't talk or play like other kids. I knew that by including her in our school and showing people just how special Emma is, and what makes her different IS what makes her special to our family and to everyone who interacts her was a very important message. 3 weeks later, with the help of my family and friends, I started on a mission to raise money to fund research to find a cure for Emma and all the other angels with Angelman Syndrome. What started as a family lemon-aide stand outside my house and a simple moment of giving $80 to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation the summer before, turned into extended family, friends, and community near and far supporting my goal to sell 5 million cups of $4 cocoa to fund a cure for Emma and all the other angels.

In addition to raising $158,540 or 39,635 cups of real and virtual cocoa in the past 3 years, this fundraiser is a mission of kindness. To share the message that what’s makes us different IS what makes us special and how open-minded and open-hearted people can change lives in small and big ways. I am so thankful for all the love, support, and giving.
