This Week in Bel-Air 🏡

Here’s a look at some of the projects and initiatives happening throughout our community:

🚧 Sunset Blvd. Pavement Repair
After months of advocating for repairs through service requests, letters, social media, and local news coverage, Sunset Boulevard has finally received the pavement improvements it deserved.

🌿 Caltrans Moraga Cleanup
Following several requests from the Bel-Air Association, Caltrans cleared the dead foliage around the Moraga and Sepulveda freeway entrance and exit, helping improve the appearance and safety of this important gateway into Bel-Air.

💡 Adopt-A-Lamp Post Project
Our historic Bel-Air Special lamp post restoration project is underway! Adopt a lamp post for $250, and the Bel-Air Association will restore a second lamp post through our matching program. Your tax-deductible donation helps preserve one of Bel-Air’s most iconic features for future generations.

Another beautiful piece of Bel-Air’s history is getting the care it deserves! Our Adopt-a-Lamp Post Project is underway, with lamp posts being carefully restored, repainted, and refreshed throughout the community.

These historic lamp posts are more than street fixtures—they’re part of the character and charm that makes Bel-Air so special. 💚

Our Moraga project is officially underway! 🌿

We’re excited to be transforming this important neighborhood landscape with fresh landscaping, improved planting, and a much-needed refresh to the island.

It’s already starting to take shape, and we can’t wait to share the finished result. Stay tuned for the transformation! ✨

Living in Bel-Air means living in what is classified as a Very High Fire Severity Zone. Wildfire preparedness is a year round priority, especially during fire season.

Proper brush clearance and vegetation management are among the most important steps we can take to help protect our homes, our neighbors, and our community. Creating and maintaining defensible space reduces available fuel and gives firefighters a better opportunity to protect structures if a wildfire occurs.

Our iconic Moraga Entrance is looking its best, thanks to ongoing landscape maintenance and the continued support of our members. Together, we’re preserving the beauty that makes Bel-Air unlike anywhere else.

We’ve received reports of an increase in coyote sightings throughout the neighborhood. Coyotes are a natural part of our local ecosystem, but it’s important to take precautions—especially if you have small pets.

Here are a few ways to help keep your home and pets safe:

• Keep small pets indoors or closely supervised, especially from dusk to dawn.
• Never feed coyotes or leave pet food outside.
• Secure trash and recycling bins and put them out the morning of collection when possible.
• Keep grills clean and compost bins securely covered.
• Pick up fallen fruit from your yard.
• If you see a coyote, haze it away by making loud noises and encouraging it to leave. Consistent hazing helps keep coyotes wary of people.

For over 10 years, Jamie Meyer has dedicated her time, leadership, and heart to serving the Bel-Air Association Board. A Bel-Air resident for more than 50 years, Jamie has been a tireless advocate for our community working every day to help keep Bel-Air beautiful, safe, and connected.

Beyond Bel-Air, Jamie has devoted her life to supporting young people—especially those with disabilities—and continues to make a meaningful impact through her volunteer work. We are incredibly grateful for her unwavering commitment, thoughtful leadership, and countless contributions to our neighborhood.
