IMPORTANT RETROFIT INFO and WARNING for all REALTORS

We are having a lot of problems lately with inspectors and unlicensed contractors solicitation for Retrofit Inspection and Repairs.
They do the work and cannot pull permits. This is leaving Sellers wide open for Liability after the close of escrow.
If a Contractor does not have a C36 contractor’s License he/she cannot pull a single Earthquake Shutoff valve permit.
Some people think they save money this way. It could not be further from the truth.

The BEST WAY to service your clients as a Realtor is to get the work done before you have the Home Inspected and prior to the Appraisal. The inspection report will come out with less items to repair, Buyers will be impressed that the house is up to par and complies with current codes. Your inspection will go well and you will have the Retrofit done the RIGHT WAY.

Call us as soon as you Open Escrow but before the inspection and the Appraisal. This will save your client money and will save time for you.
