What an unforgettable day! 🎉 A huge thanks to the LA Kings, Kings Care Foundation, LA Kings Ice Crew, and Bailey LA Kings for bringing the excitement to our Elementary School in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Our 4th and 5th graders hit the rink for some ball hockey, while our kindergarteners enjoyed story time with Bailey and the Ice Girls; they read “B is for Bailey” in Spanish! Our students had a blast with the Kings family, making memories that kicked off the weekend in style and continued the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration! 🏒👑

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month.

Conversations around su***de can be difficult, but asking someone directly if they're struggling is a crucial first step toward helping them find support.

Our PLN Mental Health team shared guidance for talking with children, teens and adults when you're concerned about their well-being. This includes the importance of listening, asking direct questions, identifying sources of strength, and connecting them with help.

Swipe through for guidance, crisis resources, and information about the mental health services available at PLN.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, call 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

On Saturday, 9/26, Para Los Niños had the incredible opportunity to attend the LA Galaxy match as the Community Partner of the Match, where we were officially recognized by the club for the impact we make in the communities we serve. Our Middle School Principal, Gabriela Benitez, even got to deliver the game ball to Cozmo!⚽️

A huge thank you to the LA Galaxy for their generous $2,500 donation and for inviting us to participate in SoccerFest, where we connected with and spoke to so many passionate soccer fans. We are grateful for this continued partnership and appreciate the many ways the LA Galaxy supports PLN students and families.

We are thrilled to share that yesterday we launched the Para Los Niños Policy Agenda For The Children!

Grounded in the experiences and perspectives of the families we serve, PLN’s policy agenda includes five policy priorities.

1. HOUSING: Ensure affordable, stable and dignified housing in safe communities.
2. JOBS: Every job should provide living wages, dignity, security, and advancement.
3. IMMIGRANT FAMILIES: Protect and keep immigrant families together.
4. SAFETY NET: Create a coherent and compassionate social safety net that is responsive to families.
5. SUSTAINABILITY: Supporting Communities Through Nonprofit Sustainability.

We are thankful to Los Angeles Trade-Technical College for hosting us, to our speakers including Dr. D’Artagnan Scorza from Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell’s office, to our panelists Myong Kim of Downtown Women's Center, Roberto Roque of First 5 LA, Donna Sneeringer of Child Care Resource Center, and to our very own Jimmy Urizar, VP of Student and Community Services.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it a memorable event. Your engagement inspired us and reminded us of the importance of collaboration and partnership to ensure our families thrive. Let’s keep building a future where policies truly work for everyone!

We are incredibly grateful to Thomas Safran & Associates for selecting Para Los Ninos as their partner for TSA's The Big Give! 🎉

Over 200 staff members joined forces for a day of service, resulting in meaningful improvements across our sites. Donations from TSA employees, partners, and residents totaled $141,000! The TSA team provided supplies and resources, helped assemble hygiene kits, read to students, beautified outdoor spaces, organized family rooms, and refreshed youth lounges. It was a huge success!

TSA's commitment made a real impact for our children, youth, and families. Thank you, TSA, for your generosity, hard work, and dedication to helping our community thrive! 💙
