Food insecurity doesn't always look the way people expect.

For Cheryl, it means balancing the care of her autistic daughter, her senior mother and her own health while trying to make disability benefits stretch far enough to cover rising food costs.

Thanks to Grace Resources, a partner agency of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Cheryl can bring home fresh, nutritious food that supports her family's health and well-being.

"Places like food pantries are so pivotal to communities that are underfunded and underdeveloped. It brings a sense of community and awareness of hunger," Cheryl shares.

Read Cheryl's story and learn how support for the Food Bank and its partner agencies helps families throughout Los Angeles County.

We're celebrating 10 years of Starbucks FoodShare, a Starbucks partner (employee)-led program that helps rescue nourishing, ready-to-eat food from Starbucks stores and redirect it to neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

In addition to food donations, Starbucks has supported the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank through Capacity Building funding, helping us invest in refrigeration and other essential equipment so we can safely receive, store and distribute more food across Los Angeles County.

Thank you, Starbucks, for helping reduce food waste and increase access to nutritious food for our neighbors.

No student should have to choose between paying for textbooks and putting food on the table.

Each month, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank partners with Long Beach City College's Basic Needs Program to host a Mobile Food Pantry serving more than 500 students, families, and community members.

From fresh produce and pantry staples to protein like chicken, this monthly distribution helps relieve financial pressure for households while supporting students as they pursue their education.

"Our students are part of our community, and we know the need is high," says Justin Mendez, Director of LBCC's Basic Needs Program.
