Celebrating culture, connection, and community at Carver Middle School! 💙💛

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, students were invited to place a sticker on the country their family is from, or a country they would love to learn more about or visit.

Two CISLA students also stepped into leadership roles to help facilitate the activity and represent CISLA on campus. We love seeing our students celebrate where they come from while building their confidence as leaders. 💫

This holiday season, we’re bringing a little Whoville magic to Watts—and transforming it into CISLAville! 💚❤️

Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA) is getting ready for our Annual Holiday Distribution Event, and we’re inviting our community to help make this year’s celebration bigger and brighter for students and families.

Last year, our amazing partners helped us:
🎁 Distribute 600 toys & gifts
🥕 Provide fresh food to 250 families
🛒 Provide grocery gift cards to 200 families

This year, our goal is to double our impact!

There are so many ways to join the CISLAville magic:

Last year, the generosity of our community partners helped Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA) provide:

• 600 toys and gifts to students and families
• Fresh food to 250 families
• Grocery store gift cards to 200 families
• 19 volunteers to support our Annual Holiday Distribution Event

This year, we’re setting an ambitious goal: double our impact.

We’re inviting businesses, corporations, nonprofits, community organizations, and individuals to join us.

Thanks to generous supporters, we’ve raised $1,695 toward our $5,000 Meow Wolf match and our $10,000 Back-to-School Campaign goal.

Not familiar with Meow Wolf? They’re an immersive art and entertainment company opening a new exhibition in Los Angeles.

That means we’re just $3,305 away from unlocking the full match and we need your help before September 4!

Belmont kicked off the school year by rolling out the red carpet for students! CISLA staff were there to welcome students back in the morning and keep the celebration going with popsicles and popcorn during lunch.

Starting a new school year comes with a lot of feelings, but having people who are excited to see you can make all the difference. 💙
