More than 17,000 firefighters continue to bravely battle numerous wildfires burning in California. The CZU Lightning Complex Fire, a blaze officials are calling the most challenging, has forced tens of thousands of residents from their homes. As a result, we’ve extended our mission to include donating supplies to evacuees who have been impacted by these devastating fires throughout the state.

Last month, our H.O.P.P.E. team members in Northern California provided 300 masks, 342 bottles of H.O.P.P.E. hand sanitizer, and two brand new air mattresses with pumps to the Santa Cruz County Emeline warehouse to support CZU Lightning Complex Fire evacuees.

Team members also donated 100 masks and 50 portable hand sanitizers to evacuees staying at a Red Cross sponsored hotel in Burlingame.

These donations would not have been possible without support from our generous community. Thank you for donating and supporting our efforts! To learn more, visit www.hoppeunited.com

Checkout these healthcare heroes from Cedars-Sinai rocking the headbands that made and donated to our team at H.O.P.P.E. United! These headbands are known as “ear savers”, and have buttons on the sides of them where you can easily connect face mask loops so it doesn’t irritate your ears at the end of the day!

Manduka yoga kindly sent us a few thousand of these wonderful headbands, and H.O.P.P.E. United team member .amaral dispersed them to our teams in the NC Triangle Area, SF Bay Area, and Boston this week. They will then be donated to a variety of essential workers and community members in need alongside a donation of PPE. Thank you for supporting our mission, Manduka, and to our healthcare heroes for all your hard work!

Garrett is a 7th grader at a school in Northern California, and he’s spent weeks making 3D printed face shields at home. He recently donated 40 faceshields to .united, and we’re incredibly grateful for his hard work and support!

These shields will protect healthcare workers and community caregivers working with at risk or underserved populations in the SF Ba Area. It’s so wonderful to have young people contribute to our efforts to protect our communities! Thank you, Garrett!

Here’s a closer look at what his school posted:
“This spring, Garrett ('21) has been busy putting his 3D printing skills to use making face shields for those working in healthcare and the medical field. A building and design enthusiast, Garrett has been fascinated by the stories of people using technology to manufacture equipment at a time when supplies of important medical gear are running low. After trial-and-error, Garrett decided to make face shields using the Budman Design and enlisted his family's help to source the additional parts and assemble the complete face shield.

Each face shield takes approximately 2 hours to make, and after many weeks of work, Garrett has completed 25 face shields! This past Memorial Day, Garrett donated the supplies to H.O.P.P.E United, an organization that sources Personal Protective Equipment for frontline healthcare providers. Garrett shares that he is excited to find a way to use his passions to help others, especially at this time of need.

Great work reaching beyond and making a difference in the lives of those working at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic, Garrett!”

We’d like to send a heartfelt thank you to this inspiring dad, Jason, and his two sons, Greg and Ben, who’ve been working hard at home to create hundreds of face shields for our healthcare heroes in need! Not only have they purchased every single ounce of material needed to construct the shields, but they’ve been shipping the finished PPE to H.O.P.P.E. United donation locations across the U.S. including California, Boston, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New York! Greg has even made their DIY efforts his official Eagle Scout Troop project!

This family is proof of how an at-home effort can make a BIG difference for those on the frontlines... and we’re so grateful for all their hard work. Thank you, Jason, Ben, and Greg!

H.O.P.P.E. United: Helping Our Providers get Protective Equipment

“Our mission is to source Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for frontline healthcare workers in desperate need of supplies so they can continue to safely help our community fight against COVID-19.”

As COVID-19 cases continue to climb at an alarming rate, healthcare providers throughout the U.S. are now facing a critical shortage of personal protective equipment needed to keep them safe. H.O.P.P.E. United is a community-driven organization that was independently created by and for healthcare providers in an effort to source supplies that medical professionals around the world desperately need.

Our nation’s supply chain is ramping up production of these supplies, but the process is slow, and time is of the essence. This is a crisis, and we hope you’ll join us in taking immediate action! There are three ways you can support our grassroots mission: donate, make, and connect. Here is more information on how you can support:

1. Donate: You can make a monetary donation through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity (Greater Los Angeles) to help us purchase PPE for distribution to our hospitals and frontline healthcare providers. You can also donate supplies that you might already have on hand by visiting our website hoppeunited.com. Some of the donated items needed include N95 masks, surgical/procedure masks, goggles, gowns, gloves, hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes, and shoe covers.
