Today The Martha Project celebrates ✨TWO✨ years of serving plant-based meals and love to our houseless community here in LA! Two years ago I set out to see if I could serve in a way that honored the sacredness of the lives we intended to serve. It started small, just a few friends getting together and all pitching in $20 then coming to cook in my tiny apartment. I had no idea then that our message of love would spread like wild fire and that The Martha Project would take on a life of its own. I started this project as a way of keeping my grandmother’s love alive in the world and now it has to date served 10,000 meals, become a official 501c3, appeared in several publications and podcast, and even made its national television debut on The Rachael Ray Show.
Today in celebration I want to honor my muse, my grandmother Martha Ann. This southern bell showed me unconditional love, the power of self acceptance and the importance of cooking with intention, hers always being ❤️LOVE❤️. They say it only takes one. On the backdrop of my chaotic childhood she was my one, the one reminding me of my worth, showing me my light when I could not see, holding me when I cried and feeding me healing foods when I was sick. Her love kept my soul alive and fortified me in a way that’s so powerful I overflow with love to give back! This thanksgiving we are so grateful to you for joining us on journey and your willingness to be the one for a life in need.
Thank you, we love you!
