Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega confirmed that 24 undocumented Filipinos in the U.S. have been deported due to their involvement in illegal activities.
Philippine officials have also urged other undocumented Filipinos to either return voluntarily or start resolving their immigration status ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump's planned mass deportation policy.
Philippine Ambassador to the U.S. Jose Manuel Romualdez earlier reported that some undocumented Filipinos have sought assistance from the Philippine Embassy and consulates, while others opted to return voluntarily to avoid detention or forced removal under President Donald Trump's mass deportation policy.
The ambassador encouraged undocumented Filipinos to address their legal status immediately to avoid potential deportation.
