Today, we lost one of our movement forefathers.
Reverend Jesse Jackson was a towering figure in the Civil Rights Movement and often described as a “movement unto himself”. His family described him as a “servant leader” who acted as a father figure for the oppressed, voiceless, and overlooked worldwide. A protégé of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Jackson led protests for decades, continuing his advocacy for social and racial justice into the Black Lives Matter era.
Today we honor him as an ancestor and a testimony to the sacrifices made in the interest of liberation 🫶🏽 We send prayers to the Jackson family and vow to carry his legacy with honor and dignity, as the marathon continues.
Rest in Power Reverend Jackson 🕊️
