Sometimes we have to think of creative solutions to help solve neighborhood issues. After a neighbors request for a 4 way stop was rejected they came to the NC to ask what other solutions might exist to improve safety at the corner of Madera/Tyburn. I asked LADOT if a “cross traffic does not stop” sign could be placed below the stop signs to add an extra alert that a 4 way stop did not exist at this intersection. Despite not finding justification for the extra two stop signs they were happy to install these signs at my request!

Took a walk to enjoy the center median landscaping project I proposed to our councilman two years ago. Glad to see it finally happen and the vegetation really thriving. Our next project involves surveying the empty tree wells along Glendale blvd to see about some new getting trees planted in them! In addition to advocating for Atwater Village and our stakeholders when it comes to services and policies that impact our community, another important role of AVNC board members is to get our hands dirty and be willing to volunteer to help out around the community. Over the last 5 years I have been honored to plan and help execute many of the cleanup and beautification projects around the neighborhood!
