The Chamber recently convened a roundtable with the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates (Consulate General of the UAE) in Los Angeles to explore opportunities for deeper economic, business, and cultural ties between the UAE and Hollywood. The discussion focused on the UAE’s growing film, entertainment, media, technology, AI, gaming, tourism, and hospitality sectors, as well as opportunities for Hollywood-based companies to expand and establish connections in the UAE and for UAE businesses to explore partnerships and investment across Hollywood’s diverse business ecosystem. The conversation also identified potential future delegations, events, and initiatives to connect Chamber members with opportunities in the UAE and strengthen ties between the two markets.

For Hollywood, bringing production back means bringing opportunity back. 

A new bipartisan bill in Congress proposes a federal tax credit for qualifying film, television, and visual effects projects produced in the U.S. The proposed 20% base credit would work alongside existing state incentives, helping the U.S. compete for productions and the jobs they create. 

“When I think about what a production brings to Hollywood, I think about the people whose livelihoods depend on it,” said Ron Frierson, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. “I think about the crew member getting another call, the restaurant filling tables at lunch, and the young person seeing a path into an industry that was born in their own community. That’s why this effort matters. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is grateful to the bipartisan group of lawmakers, including Senator Adam Schiff and Representative Laura Friedman, who are working along with our local leaders to bring more production and opportunity home. The Chamber will keep speaking up for the people and businesses who make Hollywood what it is.”
