Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent’s cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the joys of childhood. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Camp Kesem at UNR was founded in 2020 and supports children in the Northern Nevada community by providing Camp Kesem, a free week-long summer camp experience, and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.

Wanna quick bite before you get to class?😋 Come over to the KC Breezeway from 10 AM to 2 PM tomorrow, March 31st, to end off your March with our Musubi March fundraiser!! We will be selling Tuna Onigiri & Soy Glazed Spam Musubi packaged in easy to go bags for you to eat ASAP or save for later!!🍙🤤

Hello Kesem Family! 🐛

We are looking for people with photo and journalism skills to bring 2 photographers and 1 videographer to camp! The link to apply is in our bio!

At camp, we have multiple units doing activities so we need 2 photographers to get photos of all activities for all ages.

Our videographer will be in charge of making the camp video for 2026 including b-roll and interviews from campers, counselors, and family members.

This team will be in chatge of making creative posts & videos for our social media will camp is going on. Ex.) asking counselors what the most useful item in their f***y pack is or making an instagram reel highlight the day.

You do NOT need to be a UNR student to join so we can recruit anyone in the area! If you’re interested, our volunteer coordinators will extend an interview.
