One thing I saw SO much of after the fires this past January were people wanting to do some good but no one was talking or reaching out to one another to learn what was ALREADY being done. There were SO many care kits, clothes, and food donations that had NOWHERE to go. The biggest learning lesson from that was to find out who is already doing the work and help out.

You don’t need to first, just be there!!!

Please be mindful that every donated item needs to get sorted and then redistributed, that requires multiple people doing multiple tasks. Everything is evolving so rapidly so the more people willing to help, the better!!

This post isn’t meant to offend those who want to donate clothing (or other items) but just give a clearer picture of what’s happening on the ground.

For some, they’re just starting out in mutual aid and learning as they go. Other orgs are true to this and still being overwhelmed with the donation support. Just be kind, we’re all trying to help and get resources to those impacted.

For everyone asking us about donation drives and items, please visit the link in our bio to what is needed where! There’s already people doing the work, you just have to get involved how ever you can!

⚠️If you know of a restaurant willing to help please tag them⚠️ Fire houses are looking for hot meals and water. Evac centers can use hot meals to hand out to evacuees. Donation stations where people are rapidly sorting through pound and pounds of donated items can use fuel to keep going.

Tomorrow the donation drop continues with .sanfernandovalley . Donations will be going to community members, fellow orgs for redistribution, non profits in need like & more.

If you’re looking to help out more of LA, specifically our unhoused folx, plz hit up & .cortez who is looking for PPE for their regular Sunday drops.
