Join us one last time to volunteer and celebrate at our current space, recognizing and fundraising for Black Thumb Farm’s 5-Year Anniversary and Move-Out 🌿

🗓️ Saturday, June 20th ⏰ 3 Volunteer Shifts Available

1. 3:15 - 4:45 PM Set-Up and Welcome Shift
2. 4:45 - 6:15 PM Guest Support or Activity Station
3. 6:15 - 7:30 PM Close-Out and Clean-Up

Saturday, May 23rd, we will have food, tie-dye, and a special culmination to celebrate everyone’s hard work these past 5 months! 🎉🥳

Who’s hungry? 🧑‍🍳 Last week at the farm, things heated up when Guest Teacher Alberto ( ) brought the ultimate Chopped Challenge! 🔪✨

Our Farm Hands were tasked with creating a 100% plant-based dish featuring three secret ingredients: banana chips 🍌, shallots 🧅, and apples 🍎!

But that’s not all... each team also had to master the Art of Emulsification to whip up a delicious sauce (3 parts fat, 1 part acid, 1 part emulsifiers + all the fresh herbs & aromatics 🌱).

It was a tough competition, but a huge shoutout to Team Goose for taking 1st place with their incredible fruit salad and avocado toast! 🏆🥑🍏

We’re excited to share a sneak peek of what’s in store for Putting Down Roots — Black Thumb Farm’s 5-Year Anniversary and Move-out Celebration! 🌿✨

🍽️ Farm-to-Table Bites: Culinary talent, Alberto Alcazar will be preparing delicious bites using fresh, seasonal produce.

🌾 Produce Donation: Huge gratitude to (Avenue 33 Farm) for donating locally grown ingredients that make this celebration not only delicious, but deeply rooted in community care and food sovereignty.

🎶 Live Music: We’ll be joined by the talented whose sound brings warmth, connection, and joy to the farm atmosphere.

This event is more than a party — it’s part of our End-of-Year campaign to secure our own space, deepen our youth programming, and keep access to fresh, culturally sustaining food free for San Fernando Valley families.
