Join us in May for Writing to Re-member: An Introduction to Flash Prose. Flash prose, whether fictional or non-fictional, is characterized by its capacity to tell an unforgettable story in very few words. In this workshop, we will approach flash prose as a self-contained window onto socio-historical processes that emerge from our most specific lived experiences and in particular, memories. We will gather tools from poetry, political organizing, and how memory itself works to write a flash prose piece that sheds critical light on systemic forces through autobiographical examples.

This is a closed space for disabled, neurodivergent, and/or chronically ill people. We will meet on Zoom, with automated captions. ASL upon request.

Our Crip Writers Collective workshops aim to help our participants grow as writers and feel empowered to share their personal narratives through art.

Our next Crip Writers event will be Comic Relief for Medical Grievances. This workshop will focus on experiences navigating the sh*tshow of the medical system and how to turn our frustrations, overwhelm and other experiences into art. Together we will go through prompts and drawing exercises to create comic strips and find humor, relief, and connection. *No art experience necessary.

This is a closed space for disabled, neurodivergent, and/or chronically ill people. We will meet on Zoom, with automated captions. ASL upon request.
