Really thrilled to announce this donation of 17 skateboards, 6 decks, a box of grip, 20 pairs of and a box of clothing from both and !

This gear is all being donated to the Pala Band of Mission Indians reservation in San Diego County for their Skateboard for Resilience event. This event for the youth during Su***de Prevention Month works to remind the youth that YOU are not alone and YOU are needed in this world. We all know skateboarding helps to build community and gives skaters a sense of purpose so what better way to get a new skater in on all the positive benefits than with some fresh new gear!

Thanks to Matt Morningstar with the Pala Tribe for spearheading this event and reaching out to us for support. We couldn't be more proud to support this noble cause.

We have another skater spotlight for you all. This week check out from Maputo, Mozambique!

Paulo is 19 years old and has been skating for 4-5 years. Like many others in his community, he was introduced to skateboarding through@franciscoskateboard and he regularly skates at the Luis Vinho Skatepark.

Favorite trick?
“360 flip and shove it late flip”

Other than skateboarding what do you like to do?
“I like to teach some kids from the neighborhood”

Is there anything else you would like the world to know about you?
“I've finished secondary school and now I'm struggling to attend an university, so I'd like to attend to a professional formation”

For this week’s skater spotlight we feature a skater that Give Skate has been supporting for a number of years. Everyone give a warm welcome to !

An important member of the Chennai skate community (), Jake is 30 years old and has been skating for 8 years.

“Kickflip”

What is your favorite thing about skateboarding?
“It’s freedom”

“Fishing”

Is there anything else you would like the world to know about you?
“I grew up in the city where know one knows about skateboarding and I started all alone and through social media I found few skaters in my city who also skate. As time went by I became very passionate about skateboarding and that’s how my skate life went. I met a lot of people, travelled to lots of places and skateboarding actually changed my life. Today I am 30 years old and skateboarding is my career. I teach skateboarding to kids and also take care of the skateboarding community in my city, creating a platform that I didn’t have when I was started to skate.”

We’re starting a new series to highlight skateboarders from around the globe!

The first in this series is a friend of our organization and a Give Skate supported skater from Hyderabad, India. Everyone please say hello to !

Serena is 22 years old and has been skating for almost 2 years. She is a critical part of the crew and regularly facilitates workshops and skate meetups for her community.

Favorite trick?
“As of now I love the feel of a kickflip”

Other than skateboarding what do you like to do?
“I am very passionate about Art! I love creating things let it be on canvas, walls ⭐️ or i llustrations” Check out Serena’s art account as well .serenaa!

Who got you into skating?
“Myself! I never saw a skateboarder before I got my board (which is kinda funny now when I think about it). I always loved the sport & wanted to try it.”

Is there anything else you would like the world to know about you?
“I love being a major part of an evolving girls skateboarding community in Hyderabad and hosting workshops! It’s built a safe space and supportive environment for everyone to just be who they truly are and feel at comfort and ease! I wish the government in Hyderabad put in effort to recognize the sport and encourage individuals”
