“How long, O Lord, wilt Thou utterly forget me? How long wilt Thou turn Thy face away from me?”

Psalm 12 begins with a cry of anguish: a soul overwhelmed by the seeming absence of God. Yet, as the Psalm unfolds, desperation gradually gives way to trust, hope, and praise.

This is only the beginning. Follow along in the coming videos as we continue the journey of this Psalm.

“With what shall we reward the Lord for all that He hath given us?”

Through a series of profound contrasts: the Passionless One upon the Cross, the Light in Hades, the Life in death, this hymn from the Praises in Grave Mode proclaims the mystery of Christ’s Incarnation, saving Passion, and Resurrection.

Chanted by Patrick and Gabriel.

“In the shelter of Thy wings will I rejoice.”

In the stillness of the night and at the break of dawn, the Psalmist remembers God: his helper, his refuge, and the One to whom his soul cleaves.

An excerpt from Psalm 62, composed by Fr. Nicolas Malek and adapted to English by George Zain, from our album Harp of David.
