Eastmont + North East Trees are bringing free trees to the East Los Angeles Certified Farmers' Market.

Residents of unincorporated East LA can adopt a free tree at the North East Trees booth, while supplies last. More trees mean more shade, cleaner air and greener, healthier streets for the families who call East LA home.

Pick up your tree, then stay to shop fresh produce, enjoy delicious food and support our local vendors. Shopping with CalFresh? Get up to $15 in at the EBT booth.

Volunteers help make Eastmont’s Thanksgiving Community Celebration possible.

Eastmont Community Center is seeking 45 volunteers to help us serve East LA families on Friday, November 20.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Event setup and registration
• Line, traffic, and parking support
• Food and turkey distribution
• Hot meal preparation and service
• General event assistance
• Cleanup and breakdown

• Morning: 7 AM–11 AM
• Afternoon: 11 AM–2 PM

Earlier this cohort, Preferred Bank.us walked participants through banking for small businesses; now Bet Tzedek brings the legal expertise.

You don't need to be in our program to join! For the first time, Eastmont is opening a Small Business Program workshop to the public, and hosting it virtually so more entrepreneurs can join from anywhere.

Bet Tzedek volunteer attorneys will lead 5 Legal Tips for Small Business: what to look for before you sign a contract, how trademarks protect your brand, and how to handle legal situations that can feel intimidating.

Was your small business financially affected by the June 17 Lineage Fire or the May 22 East Los Angeles Oil Spill?

The Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity in partnership with County Board Chair and First District Supervisor Hilda Solis is accepting applications for:

• $3,000 grants for eligible commercial storefront businesses
• $1,000 grants for eligible home-based businesses with customer presence, sidewalk vendors, and mobile businesses

Important: Only businesses physically located within the County-designated impact areas may qualify. Review the official maps before beginning your application.
