Exciting day at Eastmont Community Center yesterday!

We welcomed visitors from across the nation — including Chicago, Puerto Rico, Washington DC, Texas, Costa Rica, Colorado — who came to learn about our impactful work.

Focusing on our early childhood program and social safety net initiatives, this visit was made possible through our partnership with who selected Eastmont as a tour site.

Our Assistant Director of Programs and Childcare Supervisor shared how far we’ve come since the Eastmont Learning Center opened last year.

Just a year and a half later, we’re expanding with a civic engagement program and, beginning July 1st we’ll have open enrollment!

We were so happy to have celebrated 80+ incredible mothers at our special breakfast event this weekend, honoring their dedication to our programs and creating a morning with delicious food, great conversations, and fun raffles.

Join our free, Civic Engagement cohort designed just for parents! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 We at Eastmont care about providing our community with the tools, information, and resources to increase civic engagement ✨

Learn how democracy works, prepare to vote in the upcoming primary election, and discover safe ways to engage civically — no voting experience required!

This past weekend we partnered up with to host a CA Senate Forum which invited 4 candidates currently running to represent East Los Angeles 🙌

We joined forces to support this important civic event by bringing program resources — from tax services to childcare to educational programming, civic participation is another component of what we do at Eastmont Community Center.

Thank you to for organizing this event where we saw 75+ residents attend and connect with the candidates!

Three months of free tax prep complete! 🎉

So proud to have guided more first time filers throughout the process this year, making tax season stress-free for our community.

Programs like the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) are crucial — connecting income earners of $75k or less with certified IRS prepares to get the credit they deserve, at no cost.

This past Saturday in Boyle Heights we wrapped up the last of our free tax service pop ups around LA County with a successful event in partnership with CalEITC4Me. ✅

With only one day left before the tax deadline, we are finishing off the tax season strong 💪
