DAF Day is on October 8th!

UWGLA is so proud to be part of this national day of giving, and we hope you'll show us what your donor-advised fund can do on October 8th.

DAFs are tax-advantaged charitable giving accounts that let donors make a contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants to nonprofits like United Way of Greater LA over time.

Any person can open a DAF account at more than 1,150 providers around the country.

When you make a gift through your donor-advised fund on October 8 to United Way of Greater LA, you’ll help support community college students, advance economic mobility for families, and strengthen disaster resilience across our communities.

Thank you to United Way of Greater Los Angeles and BMO U.S. for joining our Friday distribution at our Monrovia location last month!

Throughout August, BMO carried out its annual Days of Impact, focusing on volunteer projects and initiatives that give back to the community. With their help, 158 unduplicated households received carts filled with fresh vegetables, fruit, bread, protein, and more.

We’re grateful to Denise and Lorenzo at United Way of Greater Los Angeles for coordinating this opportunity, and to the BMO team for bringing their time and energy to our distribution! ☀️

Congratulations to and U.S. Vets for a very successful 2026 Surf for Vets event!

The Surf for Vets surfing competition held in Huntington Beach raised $100,600 this week. This significant contribution will go directly toward supporting our partner U.S. Vets, helping to provide housing, comprehensive services, and advocacy to veterans throughout the United States.

Relive the magic of WalkUnitedLA 2026!

The energy at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park CA was unmatched as thousands of us came together for housing, education, and opportunity for all. From the iconic lap through the stadium to the incredible performances and community spirit, this was a day we won't forget.

Check out the official recap video to see the highlights of our 5k run/walk and the powerful impact we made alongside the Los Angeles Rams our honorary chair Matthew Stafford, and our amazing emcee, Ashley C. Mackey

Every step captured here represents a commitment to building pathways out of poverty and into prosperity for our unhoused neighbors, underserved students, and low-income families.

While the walk is over, our work continues! Donations will remain open until May 31st to help us reach our community goals.
