What a POWERFUL Night!! ✨

The Disability Hip Hop Jam during Grammy Week in LA brought together an unforgettable night of music, comedy, and community, celebrating disability culture and the power of inclusion in hip-hop.

Featuring live performances from West Coast artists Garnett Silver-Hall and King Khazm, along with a dynamic set, from RAMPD Pro Member, TapWaterz of 4 Wheel City, the event showcased incredible talent and diversity on stage. DJ Sabeerah held it down on the 1s and 2s, keeping the energy high throughout the night.

The event was hosted by Pamela Galvez, creator of the “Don’t Dis My Disability” Comedy Showcase, adding a powerful and entertaining layer of comedy to the experience. With industry guests, advocates, and supporters in attendance, the energy was electric and the response was overwhelmingly positive. More than just a show, the event was a statement proving that disability culture and artists with disabilities deserve a place in mainstream hip-hop and Grammy Week conversations.

Visibility, Access, and BIG WINS at the GRAMMYs®!! 🏆

GRAMMYs® 2026 marked a true takeover. Our leadership represented on the Red Carpet, with our CEO, President and VP, serving looks with intention and speaking to media on our collective power.

The night only got better as RAMPD Pro Member Matthew Whitaker earned a GRAMMY for “Super Mario Praise Break.” This win is about undeniable TALENT at the highest level. Congrats Matt!

And RAMPD worked to up Deaf inclusion this year! Beyond ASL on the Red Carpet, Deaf journalist Melmira covered the show from LA Live and the media center, and Deaf influencers like Raven Sutton were invited to experience in-room ASL at the premier and telecast ceremonies!

Our network showed up strong. Dozens of Pro Member GRAMMY members came through to enjoy the show live and represent!

And to top it all off, our West Coast Chapter gathered at Yard House, an accessible and welcoming space, where conversation flowed and energy stayed high all day.

This wasn’t just a great night. It was a clear signal of what is possible when ACCESS MEETS EXCELLENCE and Disabled leadership shapes the music industry to be more inclusive...from the inside! 🏆

RAMPD is proud to celebrate this year’s first Pro Member highlight of the year, Jes Smith! 🎹

Jes Smith is a media composer, pianist and musician. Although he has played music for over 30 years, He is gaining recognition for his religious and Holiday albums. His albums Reasons to Praise God, Christ the Great Redeemer, and Jes’s Christmas Collection have been featured on several Spotify playlists. Smith’s music has been featured in local community radio spots, and his music is also featured in one of the top licensing outlets, the Associated Production Music (APM) catalog for television and other media. In addition to his media work for advertisers and content creators, He also plays live piano for hospitality agencies, department stores and senior assisted living facilities. Smith’s belief is that if someone’s heart-felt music has impacted just one person, it has already made an impact on the whole world

We are honored to have such talented musicians like Jes Smith in our ranks!
