Tonight was nothing short of inspiring. At the Council of Mexican American Administrators Scholarship Dinner, we had the honor of celebrating a group of incredible scholars whose stories of resilience, determination, and heart remind us of the power of perseverance.
Despite facing challenges in their communities, these students refused to be defined by circumstance. Instead, they rose above it all embracing their culture, pushing through obstacles, and now boldly stepping into their post-secondary journeys.
Their laughter, wisdom, and strength moved us and reminded us why we do this work. These scholars are ready to take on the world, and I have no doubt that success will follow wherever they go because of who they are at their core.
Felicidades to all the scholarship recipients! You make your families, your communities, and LAUSD immensely proud.
A heartfelt thank you to Superintendent Carvalho, our Local District Superintendents Dr. Denise Collier, Andre Spicer, Jose Huerta, and Dr. David Baca, LAUSD Board Members Dr. Rocio Rivas (Board District 2), Scott Schmerelson (Board District 3), and Karla Griego (Board District 5), and AALA President Maria Nichols for joining us in this celebration of student excellence and promise. Your presence uplifted and affirmed the bright futures of our scholars.
