Classical California connects listeners across two great music communities, Los Angeles and San Francisco, with one shared mission: making classical music accessible to all. 💛🎶

That mission didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of decades of work by people like Bill Lueth, President of Classical California, SF and VP of Marketing and Sponsorships, whose career helped shape a more welcoming future for classical radio.

As Bill begins his next chapter, we’re grateful for his vision, his leadership, and his belief that this music belongs in everyday life.

Read more about Bill’s remarkable journey in radio and stay tuned for his Classical Californian episode next Wednesday, June 24th: https://hubs.li/Q04lGb4m0

🎼 Celebrating the artists and collaborations that keep California’s classical music scene vibrant, innovative, and inspiring.

In this special moment, our friends at the LA Phil celebrate composer Gabriela Ortiz and Gustavo Dudamel. Ortiz’s powerful, imaginative works are reshaping today’s classical landscape, while Dudamel’s transformative tenure as Music & Artistic Director helped make Los Angeles a global center for artistic innovation, cultural connection, and shared moments through music. ✨

Gabriela Ortiz recently joined us on Classical Californians as a guest host and Gustavo Dudamel’s historic tenure with the LA Phil is celebrated in our special broadcast series marking his final concerts as Music & Artistic Director, both available on demand now.

As California’s classical music radio network, we’re honored to share the performances, artists, and stories that connect our communities from Los Angeles and San Francisco to listeners across the state and around the world.

🇵🇾 Paraguay brings Agustín Barrios Mangoré, a master of classical guitar precision.

🇺🇸 Los Angeles brings Gustavo Dudamel's community spirit, John Williams' cinematic sound, and one of the world's great soccer stages.

Tonight, we're excited for the world to experience the energy, creativity, and ambition that make this city so special.

From Bach to new voices 🎶

At Classical California, we're drawn to artists and institutions that reflect the creativity, curiosity, and forward-thinking spirit of our state. For decades, the Ojai Music Festival has been a gathering place for artists who challenge conventions and expand our understanding of classical music.

That's why we're excited to welcome Ara Guzelimian, the festival's Artistic & Executive Director, to Classical Californians tonight at 7PM. A longtime champion of innovative artists and ideas, he'll share music by California-connected composers and performers including John Adams, Reena Esmail, and Esa-Pekka Salonen, voices helping shape the future of classical music while expanding what the art form can be.
