To welcome Dexter Story to the Department of Ethnomusicology as an Assistant Professor, I thought it would be fun to share this concert footage from 2019. Wondem Band, led by Dexter Story, playing at the event "Documenting the Sounds of Africa: Archiving, Instruments, and Researching the Local," a Symposium Celebrating the Re-opening of the UCLA Ethnomusicology Archive and Honoring the Work of Jacqueline Cogdell DjeDje. The concert also featured members of the UCLA West African and Afro-Cuban Ensembles. A special shout-out to Will Matczynski for all his work organizing this 2019 concert. Dexter Story was an accomplished musician, when he realized something was missing. That started him down a path that led him to UCLA.
