From Brent’s Club scholar to George Washington University graduate, Jaz Abbey has shown what’s possible when determination is paired with opportunity. Through the support, leadership skills, and foundation she gained from Brent’s Club, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in History and Law & Society, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Now preparing to attend UC Davis School of Law and pursue a career in environmental law, Jaz continues to inspire others through her commitment to leadership, service, and creating positive change. 🎓💙

For the Month of June we are highlighting our graduates!! 🎓💙
From being a Brent’s Club Full Ride Scholarship recipient in 2022 to graduating from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in Education, Alexis Lara-Berrueco has shown what is possible when hard work meets opportunity.
Alexis has often shared that Brent’s Club and the Brent Shapiro Foundation gave him the support, guidance, and tools to continue growing, stay focused on his goals, and build a brighter future. That investment in his potential helped him turn dreams into accomplishments.
His journey is about more than earning a degree it’s about perseverance, determination, and proving how far someone can go when they are surrounded by people who believe in them. As his parents shared, the program provided not only financial support but also a community that encouraged him to stay healthy, hopeful, and focused on his future.
We are proud to celebrate how far Alexis has come and excited to see where his next chapter takes him.
