ACPB believes that by educating about, advocating for, and celebrating pit bulls, we can help promote positive public opinion of this breed, decrease the high level of euthanasia happening in our overcrowded shelters (where way too many good dogs are dying due to space constraints!) and increase adoptions of pit bulls into stable, loving homes. We face an uphill battle with many states enacting BSL and breed bans, but we will never give up. These wonderful dogs need our help, and we are proud to lend our voice to this cause we care so deeply about. 🍬 MEET JELLYBEAN! Formerly known as Dream at South LA. 💕
Jellybean’s story is one we wish we heard less often. Her owner had her since she was a puppy and did everything he could to keep her safe. When the apartment they lived in was sold and he lost his housing, he tried everything to find somewhere for Jellybean to go. He reached out to other rescues and explored every option he could before she ultimately found herself at South LA. 💔
And then came the deadline. ⏰
Jellybean was given an exit date of 8 AM this morning. Thankfully, we were able to step in—but now we need your help to give her the next chapter she deserves. ❤️
Jellybean is a young girl, born 7/15/24, and weighs around 60 pounds. She lived in an apartment, has spent time around other dogs and kids, and has been participating in shelter playgroups. 🐶👧
Shelter life was understandably a lot for her at first. She was overstimulated at the shelter, But as the days went by, her FAS (fear, anxiety and stress) began improving—and when we met her, we could see there was a sweet girl underneath all that shelter stress. 🥹
Jellybean currently has a URI and will be spending some time in isolation while she gets better. What she needs next is a foster home where she can decompress, feel safe, and start showing us who Jellybean really is. 🏡💗
And she’ll be at our Open House this Saturday looking for that person!

🐾 MEET ANNABELLE! 💕
Seven-year-old Annabelle is ready to trade her shelter kennel for a cozy foster home—and she’ll be at our Open House this Saturday! 🏡✨
This sweet 46-pound girl came to us from South LA and has already shown us that she enjoys hanging out with her dog friends in playgroups. 🐶💗 She’s currently getting some medical care for a skin condition and a small ear hematoma. The shelter vet reports that her ear is improving and surgery isn’t needed. 🙌
Now what Annabelle really needs is a soft place to land while she continues to heal and decompress. A foster home can give this deserving senior-ish gal the comfort, routine, and TLC she deserves—and help us learn even more about her personality outside the shelter. ❤️

🐾 MARLA IS LOOKING FOR A FOSTER HOME! 🐾
At 10 years young, Marla has spent enough time worrying about where she belongs. What this sweet senior really deserves now is a soft place to land. ❤️
Marla arrived at the South LA shelter with some medical needs, including a pretty rough skin condition. Despite everything, she has shown everyone that underneath it all is a very sweet girl who just wants to be loved. She has even enjoyed time in playgroups and has been described as a total sweetheart. 🥹
At 45 pounds, Marla is the perfect size for someone looking for a little more snuggle and a little less puppy chaos. 😉 She’s ready for a foster home where she can decompress, get comfortable, receive the care she needs, and finally enjoy being a dog.
And lucky for us, Marla will be at our Open House THIS SATURDAY and is excited to meet everyone! 🐶💕

If you’re looking for a dog who is equal parts sweet angel and occasional tiny goblin, allow us to introduce you to Tasi. 😂❤️
This girl has been thriving in her foster home, and her foster says she has been an absolute joy to have around. She’s incredibly easygoing and low-maintenance, spending most of her days finding a cool spot on the floor and taking a nap. She loves being near her people without needing to be the center of attention. Basically, she’s the perfect little companion. 🥹
Tasi loves:
🐾 Long walks and sniffing ALL the things
🏖️ Early morning beach adventures
🥾 Hiking (she’s even conquered Griffith Observatory!)
🚗 Car rides where she curls up and falls asleep
🦴 Treats, Kongs & chews
😴 Napping
❤️ Being near her favorite people
She has a wonderfully flexible energy level—happy to hang out and relax, but always ready when an adventure comes along.
And then there’s her 10% goblin side. 👹😂
Sometimes Tasi gets the zoomies, excitedly jumps when her person comes home, playfully mouths hands or slippers, paws for attention, or gives you a little face boop. She has a very expressive personality and BIG feelings—and honestly, her foster thinks that’s part of what makes her so lovable.
She has also made some great progress with her crate training and no longer barks when left alone in her crate. She walks beautifully once she settles into her stride and absolutely LOVES getting out for a good walk.
Tasi is the kind of dog who wants to be your companion, not your shadow. She’ll happily follow you around the house, then curl up nearby and snooze while you go about your day. ❤️
Her foster says it best:
“She’s the best companion. She wants to be in your presence, but not in a needy way.”
🥹🥹🥹
Tasi is ready to trade her foster home for an adoptive home where she can continue to thrive, explore, nap, go on walks and show off all of her silly little personality.

Who doesn’t love a good Tickle? 😉 Tickle is looking for a new foster home! This social, sweet, and patient boy is dog friendly with a slow intro. He is also huge fan of play, from running laps around his human and dog friends to chasing and being chased. Because of his proclivity for frolicking (no really, you have to see him in action to really get it, and it’s something to behold) He would prefer a house with a yard.
He is crate and potty trained, loves to stare into your soul expectantly for pats, and if you’re (un?)lucky, he will give you an open-mouthed kiss. This handsome brindle boy is 60 lbs of pure love and fun.

💔 Goodbye, sweet Roddy. 💔
Today, with incredibly heavy hearts, we said goodbye to our sweet boy Roddy. 🌈🐾
This senior bulldog arrived at the South LA shelter back in March 2024. Because of his medical needs, he was listed for euthanasia. But Roddy had so much more life to live, and we were determined to give him that chance.
Roddy was heartworm positive and went through treatment. Then came a long battle with chronic urinary tract infections that became increasingly resistant to antibiotics. In the end, we were working him up to determine whether bladder cancer was the underlying cause.
Through it all, Roddy had some amazing fosters who never stopped showing up for him. They gave him exactly what he needed—comfort, patience, love, and the freedom to simply be a happy old bulldog. ❤️
And Roddy knew how to enjoy life.
Just last month, he joined us at CoffeeFest, where he happily greeted everyone and soaked up all the attention. ☕️🐶 It was one more reminder that this boy wasn’t defined by his medical chart. He was funny, sweet, social, and so very loved.
Today, Roddy woke up and did his normal routine. He had his day, and then he laid down for a nap.
And peacefully, in his sleep, it was his time to go. 🌈
While saying goodbye is never easy, we are incredibly grateful that Roddy’s final chapter wasn’t spent in a shelter. He knew what it was like to have a home. He had people who loved him. He had soft places to sleep, adventures to enjoy, treats to savor, and a family who made sure he was comfortable right until the very end.
That is what rescue is supposed to be. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who supports Angel City Pit Bulls and makes it possible for dogs like Roddy to have a chance—not just to survive, but to thrive outside of a shelter and experience the life they deserve.
And to Roddy’s foster: thank you will never be enough. Thank you for opening your home, for loving him through all of his medical challenges, for always being willing to do whatever Roddy needed, and for giving this wonderful old boy such a beautiful final chapter. ❤️
Run free, sweet Roddy. You were loved. You mattered. And you will be missed more than you know. 🌈🐾
