You did it. 💛

Because of this community, Meals in May closed at $17,889.60, unlocking a $15,000 matching gift for a combined impact of $32,889.60.

That means 2,415 meals matched.

Every dollar given is already at work. It’s groceries in the kitchen. Fuel in the donation van. A warm meal served with dignity. It’s thousands of opportunities to see the person before the need and remind our neighbors that they matter.

What is next — the doors will continue to open each weekday at 10AM and 5PM. The table will continue to be set. Plate by plate. Name by name.

A special thank you to:
🌟 Our anonymous match partner for believing in this community.
🌟 Every first-time donor who joined us in May—welcome to the Serve LA family.
🌟 Our DAF partners for helping make this work possible.
🌟 Everyone who shared a post, forwarded an email, or invited a friend—you helped grow this table.

Today, there is no ask. Only gratitude.

Thank you for seeing the people our city too often overlooks. Because you showed up, thousands of meals—and countless moments of dignity, belonging, and hope—will be shared this summer.

Together, we Serve LA.

Sometimes a little gift goes a long way.

The other day during dinner service, one of our guests, Mauricio, complimented a staff member’s hat — talking about how helpful it must be under the hot Hollywood sun.

The next week, that very hat was on Mauricio’s head.

Moments like these may seem small, but this is how community is built. This is how dignity is restored. This is how people begin to believe they are seen again.

Thanks to the amazing generosity of an anonymous donor, every dollar given through May 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $15,000.

At Serve LA, $6.21 places a meal on the table. But the meal is only the beginning.

It’s a hot shower.
A clean change of clothes.
A name remembered.
A reason to come back tomorrow.

Together, we can keep showing up for our neighbors across Hollywood.

Give today. Double your impact.

Chef Cesar is cookin' up something great, as always! He is our head chef and creates each meal fresh daily with the donations we've received or food we've rescued. Cesar's own story includes starting at Serve LA as a guest, so he understands our mission firsthand. Ask him about his story the next time you see him!

Every person is made for hope.

Not defined by hardship.
Not reduced to circumstance.
Not forgotten, but seen.

At Serve LA, hope begins with a warm meal, a hot shower, a listening ear, and a community that genuinely cares.

We are so much more than a meal. We are people who believe whole-life transformation is possible.

Day in and day out, we serve Los Angeles. On the corner of Fountain and Edgemont, Serve LA has been serving our neighbors for nearly 30 years. But for the hundreds of volunteers who join us from across the city, state, and country, we’re reminded of something bigger: service doesn’t stop here. The heart to see people and care for others can be practiced anywhere—at work, at school, in a coffee shop, at the grocery store, even after (or during) a Dodgers game. Everywhere is an opportunity to help someone feel seen, known, and loved.

At Serve LA, we recognize beauty in spite of brokenness. In a place where so many of our guests carry heavy stories, beauty still matters. Music, art, and even flowers can brighten someone’s day and remind us that hope and joy are still possible. Don’t underestimate the gift of beauty that God has given us in the everyday.

Thank you to partners like who donate not only food, but flowers as well.

Earlier this Spring, our Executive Director, Kyle, had the opportunity to join Dr. Olivia Jung from UCLA at the UCLA Community Partner Summit.

Together, they shared about dignity-driven service and the ongoing research helping us better understand how our unhoused neighbors experience connection, care, and access to the resources they need.

At Serve LA, we believe lasting impact happens through collaboration—when practitioners, researchers, and community partners come together around a shared commitment to seeing and serving our neighbors with dignity.

We’re grateful to play a small part in this larger story unfolding across Los Angeles. Together, we can continue guiding our neighbors from suffering to flourishing.

At its heart, our monthly Day of Hope is an extension of what we strive to do every day at Serve LA—to seek the renewal of Los Angeles by guiding the marginalized from suffering to flourishing.

Every last Tuesday of the month we and our partners provide clothing, haircuts, hot showers, healthy meals, laundry, tax filing assistance, and medical services, as well as career and housing connections. This is all in effort to continue offering hope to the hopeless through the tangible love of Jesus.
