October is traditionally celebrated as the Month of the Holy Rosary, with the Church celebrating the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7.

It is an opportunity to rediscover one of the Church’s most beloved Marian devotions and, perhaps more importantly, to rediscover the Person to whom every Hail Mary ultimately leads us.

Because the Rosary is never simply about Mary. It is a prayer through which Mary continually directs our attention toward her Son.

For families trying to build homes centered on Christ, October offers the perfect opportunity to begin.

Here are a few ways the mysteries of the rosary can become a part of your family's story!

✨When welcoming a new baby, pray the Nativity.
✨When family life is painful, pray the Sorrowful Mysteries and remember that Christ is not absent from suffering.
✨When someone dies, pray the Glorious Mysteries and allow the Resurrection to remind you that death does not have the final word.
✨When your family needs guidance, contemplate the Wedding at Cana and Mary’s simple instruction: “Do whatever he tells you” (John 2:5).

The mysteries of the Rosary remind us that God entered human life completely.

We were so excited to get to sit down and chat with Fr. Chase Hilgenbrink, director of vocations with the diocese of Peoria, this week to discuss all things related to Blessed Fulton Sheen’s beatification, fatherhood and the vocation of the priesthood. ❤️🌹

Fr. Chase shares advice to parents on fostering the vocations of their children and how they can recognize when God is working in their children’s lives.
